The new codex is the obvious centerpiece. However, the model wave around it is just as important. Meanwhile, Black Library and Warhammer TV keep the week feeling properly packed.
Space Marines Get Bikes, Jump Packs, Veterans, and a Massive Codex Wave
This week’s Space Marine launch covers almost every kind of Astartes player. The Captain on Bike gives fast armies a proper leader, with options for a master-crafted power weapon, thunder hammer, or plasma pistol.
Also, the Outrider Squad adds more bike-mounted pressure, including a sergeant with a power sword or thunder hammer.
The new Vanguard Veteran Squad with Jump Packs is probably the hobby star, because it restores combat shields, adds swords and axes, and gives the sergeant relic blade, power fist, or thunder hammer options.
Meanwhile, the updated Intercessor Squad brings 13 helmets across three marks, more sergeant gear, and the classic back banner. That little banner may not win games, but it absolutely wins nostalgia points.
Kaius Konorius also joins the range as an Ultramarines blademaster who protects attached Leaders from Precision attacks while cutting through characters or hordes.
The Armageddon releases then break out separately, including the Chaplain with Jump Pack, Ancient, heavy-bolter Eradicators, separate Eradicators, and the returned Land Speeder with onslaught gatling cannon or pyrecannon.
The codex itself is a 232-page softback in a slipcase, with updated datasheets, lore, collecting guides, and fortress-monastery background. However, collectors get tempted by the Collector’s Edition and a Limited Edition set with swappable Chapter badges, art prints, a metal Crux Terminatus, and the Command Pack.
That Command Pack includes 94 reference cards and 24 double-sided tokens, while the matching dice bring silver styling and Crux Terminatus sixes.
Black Library adds Helbrecht: Sin of Hope, Master of Rites, a Dawn of Fire omnibus, and The Sundering. Finally, Warhammer TV previews the codex in Space Marines versus Tyranids and brings painting advice from Darren Latham.
Summary and Final Thoughts
Overall, this is a strong Space Marine week. However, it works because it balances rules, models, fiction, and hobby support. If you collect Astartes, this is not subtle. It is a full drop pod assault on your backlog.
