This week’s GW pre orders are stomping loudly this week.
The Sons of Behemat clearly own the spotlight; however this preview also has useful Middle-earth and Warhammer TV news.
Sons of Behemat Get New Giants, New Rules, and a Very Loud Launch Wave
The Sons of Behemat release wave is exactly what you want from a destruction army preview: big kits, weird characters, and enough stomping to flatten a gaming mat. Ma Maegran, Chooser of the Mighty, leads the new reveals as a mystical witch who can bless Gargants with “almighty bigness.”
That already sounds perfectly on-brand. However, her Ancient Ghyrochs add another nasty touch, since they gore enemies before they can reach their towering handler. Boss-stompers then bring the more disciplined side of Gargant warfare, which is admittedly a hilarious phrase. These fighters care about real combat skill, and the box builds three Boss-stompers or three Rock-hurlers. Better yet, those Rock-hurlers form the new Sons of Behemat Spearhead, giving the army a cleaner entry point.
Meanwhile, the Stomper Tribe box supports the new Army of Renown with a Warstomper Mega-Gargant and three Mancrusher Gargants. The Warstomper can also become a Gatebreaker or Kraken-eater, while the Mancrushers include several cosmetic options. Since the box is only available while stocks last, collectors should probably not sleep on it.
Brawlers of Behemat also looks fun, because it is both a standalone duel game and a sneaky way to grab two Mega-Gargants. It includes rules for quick tactical fights, two full Mega-Gargants, and new ruined Embergard terrain.
The new battletome then brings lore, artwork, miniature galleries, battle traits, a Spearhead force, and Path to Glory content.
Also, the Gamer’s Edition includes 33 warscroll cards, while separate cards and themed dice round out the army support.
Middle-earth Battlehosts and Warhammer TV Add the Extra Hobby Flavor
Although the gargants dominate the week, Middle-earth players also get three Battlehost boxes. Rohan rides out under King Théoden, Mirkwood fights through the woods with Legolas, and Dol Guldur smashes forward under Bolg.
Importantly, free downloadable rules let any two Battlehosts play each other without extra rulebooks, which is a great beginner-friendly move.
Meanwhile, Warhammer TV heads to Grand Cathay on Loremasters, throws three Necron C’tan Shards into Tyranids during Battle Report, and starts a new Tale of Four Gamers season.
Finally, the Siege of Death Mire competition winners were announced, adding one last community note. Overall, this is a strong GW pre orders week because it balances big spectacle with practical hobby support. The Sons of Behemat get the main feast, but the wider lineup still gives several systems something useful.
