Warhammer News: Ork Points, Goliath Rules, Cathay Fiction, and White Dwarf 528

Today’s warhammer news has a bit of everything.

However, it is not just another release-calendar shuffle. Orks get list-building support, while Necromunda gets meatier campaign rules. Meanwhile, Grand Cathay and White Dwarf both add serious hobby flavor.

Ork Points Go Live for the New Codex

The new Codex: Orks is almost here, and the points are now live in the Munitorum Field Manual. That matters because Ork players have been seeing upgraded datasheets, but army planning needs numbers before the real scheming starts. Ghazghkull Thraka jumps to 300 points, which fits his bigger, nastier profile and recent tabletop showing. However, this update is not just about one enormous boss.

The Warhammer 40,000 app has also been updated, with Legends units now appearing in Battle Forge. So, anyone dreaming of Grot Tanks can finally list-build with official app support. Better still, the new Ork detachments are live with Force Dispositions, which means players can start testing proper Waaagh! concepts before the codex lands.

House Goliath Gets Bigger, Meaner, and Stranger

Necromunda’s Goliath update digs into Underhive Journal: Goliath, The House of Chains, and it sounds packed. The book covers Goliath history, new fighters, equipment, variant gangs, and campaign rules.

Two character cards titled Furnace Brutes left and Unborn right each listing multiple unit names such as Forge Boss 0 1 Stimmer and 0 2 Forge Born

The two variant lists are Furnace Brutes and Unborn, which hit very different versions of underhive muscle culture. Furnace Brutes represent remote forge enforcers who can buy basic Trading Post gear without the usual post-cycle action. Also, they can permanently enhance melee weapons, adding things like better AP, Strength, Lethality, Concussive, or Knockback. Meanwhile, the Unborn are outsiders pumped full of chemicals until they become acceptable slabs of Goliath violence.

Their fighters gain an extra Secondary skill set, while Unborn Docs keep them medicated and dangerous.

The journal also adds Forge Smelters, new weapon access, gene-smithing, Side Jobs, Territories, Gang Tactics, and Muscle skills.

Rule card for a Fighter Unleash the BeastFlex action when engaged Fighter only Used to push nearby foes if they fail a Strength check or are pushed away

Honestly, “Flex” pushing nearby fighters around is peak Goliath nonsense.

Grand Cathay Finally Gets a Black Library Novel

In other Warhammer news Grand Cathay is getting its first Black Library novel with Blood of the Bastion by Evan Dicken. The story follows Yao Kai, a veteran soldier who becomes Master of the Snake Gate along the Great Bastion. However, his triumph quickly curdles when he uncovers an internal plot threatening Cathay from within. The novel focuses on family, friendship, duty, lost privilege, and the friction between personal identity and social expectation.

That sounds like a smart angle, because Cathay could easily become all dragons and spectacle. Instead, the story leans into mortal defenders facing Chaos, court intrigue, street violence, and brutal set-piece battles.

Nan-Gau also sounds fascinating, mixing ancient culture, industrial energy, fortress politics, and dangerous noble maneuvering. Better yet, the absence of a Dragon in the region gives human characters room to breathe.

White Dwarf 528 Serves Ogors, Cogforts, and Titanic Duel Mayhem and Warhammer News

Warhammer official magazine cover Age of Sigmar battle scene with armored warriors on monsters orange border and the headline Might Makes Right issue 528

White Dwarf 528 puts the Ogor Mawtribes front and center, which feels right after their major range refresh. The issue includes designer discussion, hobby guides, expert tips, and an Ogor battle report against the Ossiarch Bonereapers.

However, bones are terrible eating, so Katakros is probably in trouble already. The issue also expands Cogfort customization, including new rules and background for building your own walking fortress.

Open two page magazine spread left page shows an article titled Pride of the Ironweld with dense column text a small fiery image near the top and a bottom left portrait of a man in armor Right page features a large technical illustration of a steampunk fortress with multiple views and inset diagrams plus a vertical edge tab labeled Coforts of the Realms on the margin

Meanwhile, a Skaven-flavored Cogfort conversion adds proper warpstone madness.

Spread from a Warhammer magazine showing two giant battle machines in a clash with bold TITANIC DUEL text across the left page

In Warhammer 40,000, Gorkanauts and Morkanauts join the Titanic Duel minigame, which should be wonderfully chaotic against Imperial Knights. Also, readers get army showcases, Bunker updates, tear-out core stratagems, and Red Skull Kommandos lore.

Overall, this is strong warhammer news because it covers gaming, collecting, fiction, and hobby inspiration together.
