Warmachine Releases Add Big Beasts and Fresh 3D Hobby Fuel

Steamforged’s latest Warmachine release update is a compact one, but it has plenty of table presence. This is the kind of week that gives different players different reasons to pay attention.

Brinebloods get a giant crustacean warbeast, Khymaera get a tougher shadowflame monster, and 3D subscribers get a pile of printable toys. However, the common thread is simple. Warmachine keeps widening its range with models that feel specific, strange, and faction-driven. This is a summary of Warmachine’s own post found here.

Ol’ Scuttlebutt and the Shadow Seraph Bring Warmachine’s Heavyweight Threats

Large red crab-mech monster with armored claws, a wooden tower on its back, and small blue crew threateningly perched on top. Banner reads a fantasy name at the bottom.

The headline release is Ol’ Scuttlebutt, the first super heavy warbeast for the Southern Kriels Brinebloods. That alone makes it a big deal, because the Brinebloods already lean into pirate swagger, trollkin toughness, and weird nautical charm. This beast pushes that identity even further by being a lighthouse-carrying crustacean with real battlefield menace. It comes armed with a Tri-Cannon, a crushing Shipwrecker claw, and a towering searchlight that helps guide the Brineblood advance.

In practical gamer terms, that sounds like the sort of centerpiece model that changes how the army presents itself. It is not just another heavy hitter. It is a walking, scuttling statement piece, and those are the models that make factions memorable across the table.

Meanwhile, Khymaera players get the Shadow Seraph for the Shadowflame Shard. This 80mm super heavy warbeast is tied to Saeryn’s latest creation, which already gives it some nasty lore weight. More importantly, it is described as a different kind of Khymaera threat. Rather than relying purely on stealth and sudden violence, it trades some of that sneakiness for staying power. With shadowflame, draconic fury, and three Animi, it sounds built to take a punch while still projecting danger. That matters because glass-cannon armies often need one piece that can stand in the ugly part of the table.

Finally, June’s Warmachine 3D release gives digital hobbyists a busy month. Maximus leads a new Thornfall Alliance lineup, joined by the Razorback Crew, the Wastelander, and an alternate sculpt for the first Fane of Nyrro Warlock. Alongside terrain, loyalty rewards, and subscriber bonuses, this looks like a strong bundle for players who enjoy printing side projects while building physical armies.

Summary: A Small Release Week With Plenty of Personality

Overall, this update works because every item has a clear identity. Ol’ Scuttlebutt gives the Brinebloods a chunky naval monster, while the Shadow Seraph gives Khymaera a more durable super heavy presence. Meanwhile, the 3D release keeps the digital range active with Thornfall, Fane of Nyrro, and terrain options. It is not a massive release wave, but it is a flavorful one.
