5 Criminally Under-Appreciated Gaming Youtube Channels You Should Check Out!

The Tabletop YouTube scene is packed with huge lore channels, tournament breakdowns, painting academies, and slick battle report studios.

However, some of the most useful hobby content lives outside those obvious recommendations. These channels are not all tiny, but they feel more specific, personal, or under-discussed than the usual names. If you play Warhammer 40,000, Age of Sigmar, Warcry, Old World, or just enjoy Games Workshop history, these are worth a look.

Lords of War Games and Hobbies

Lords of War Games and Hobbies feels like the kind of channel you only find through another hobbyist’s recommendation. Chris and Jay are honest, relaxed, and rooted in years of actually playing and collecting these games. More than that though they provide a fascinating look behind the curtain as they not only play tabletop games, they run a gaming store. Their insight as retailers is great for understanding GW’s peculiarities and the unseen physics of keeping the lights on.

Olden Daemon

Olden Demon is a treat if you love the strange, dusty corners of Games Workshop history. The channel digs into older products and forgotten bits of the hobby in a way that feels affectionate with a pleasing touch of smugness. It is especially fun for fans who enjoy seeing how weird, scrappy, and experimental Warhammer used to be. Even if you did not grow up with those older releases, the channel helps explain why so many veteran players still talk about them fondly. It scratches the same itch as flipping through an old White Dwarf at a friend’s house.

Paul Is Bad At Stuff

Paul Is Bad At Stuff has a very easygoing charm, which is a big part of why the channel works. It does not feel like someone trying to present the “correct” way to hobby. Instead, it feels like someone enjoying the process, messing around with his beloved Centurions, and letting the audience come along for the ride. We all know someone with an unhealthy obsession to making bad units work competitively and Paul’s quest and related adventure are always worth a watch!

Tabletop Minions

Tabletop Minions is one of those channels that feels useful no matter what army you play. Uncle Atom talks about painting, motivation, hobby habits, tools, wargaming culture, and the little mental roadblocks that keep models sitting gray for too long. Plus he brings the grognard energy of an older gamer who is unfettered to any one system or company. His honesty and opinions, which I dont always share but appreciate hearing him elucidate, make the channel especially good for gaming fans who need help staying engaged with the hobby, or hunting for somehting new. He also offers a relaxed, practical tone that feels like advice from someone who has seen a lot of hobby cycles come and go.

Mr. Bones 40k

Mr. Bones 40k is great if you like your 40K lore with a bit of bite and a lot of personality. Arthur has that “guy at the game store who actually makes the lore fun to talk about” energy, which makes his videos easy to throw on while painting. He is not trying to sound like a sacred Imperial archive, and that is honestly part of the appeal. Instead, he mixes explanation, jokes, opinions, and fan energy in a way that makes even familiar factions feel fun to revisit. If you want lore that feels more like hanging out with another 40K fan than sitting through a lecture, Mr. Bones is a really good fit.

I love narrative campaigns above all and dabble in customs missions too.
