Team Yankee Swedish Starter Force Guide: How to Build Around the S-Tank

Sweden looks like one of the most distinctive new entries in WWIII: Nordic Forces. The force has a weird, very Swedish personality on the table.

It mixes clever tank design, strong support options, and some practical budget entry points. So, this starter guide is really about getting players into that style fast.

The Team Yankee Swedish Starter Set Gives New Players a Real Game Plan

The core starter force is built around the Strv 103 S-Tank Company box, which includes eight S-Tanks, three Pvpjtgb RBS jeeps, two HKP 9 helicopters, unit cards, a rulebook, and a start booklet.

That is a strong launch point, because the S-Tank is both unusual and effective. It brings Skill 3+, Front Armour 12, a 105mm gun at Anti-tank 21, smoke, Brutal, Laser Rangefinder, and the very handy Ambush Tank rule. So, it can sit in cover, fire, and stay annoyingly hard to pin down.

Meanwhile, Slat Armour pushes its front and side protection to 13 against HEAT weapons, which is great into infantry missiles and older anti-tank systems. The Pvpjtgb adds even more reach, since it can mount RBS-55 or RBS-56 missiles, or trade into a 90mm recoilless gun.

The formation itself is also better rounded than expected, because it can include two infantry slots and recon, not just tanks. From there, the guide lays out two paths. One doubles down on two starter sets for a lean dual-formation force with AA and helicopters. The other adds infantry, recon, Bandkanon artillery, and more AA for a much steadier all-round list.

That second route also gets access to Finnish support like T-72s, T-55s, Jaakari infantry, or 2S1 Carnations. So, the army starts as a gimmick, then quickly becomes a very flexible combined-arms force.

Final Thoughts

Overall, Sweden looks like a force for players who enjoy smart positioning, layered support, and tanks with real character. The S-Tank is clearly the star, but the wider list gives it proper backup.
