GW 3/21 Pre-Orders Legio Custodes Lead the Week, With Big Tanks, Old Orcs, and Fresh Hobby Tools Behind Them!

If you missed this Sunday Preview, the short version is simple. The Custodes are the headline, and GW knows it. However, the rest of the preview is not filler. Instead, it rounds out the week with Heresy armor, Old World nostalgia, and beginner hobby gear.

The Custodes Launch Is the Main Event

The big draw is the Legio Custodes Battle Group, which bundles the new range into one launch box. It packs a Shield Captain, six Custodian Guard, six Sentinel Guard, a Contemptor-Achillus that can also build as a Galatus, and a Caladius Annihilator grav-tank with weapon choices.

Also, it includes two transfer sheets, and GW says the launch box is limited, while the separate kits will come later.

Alongside that, Liber Custodes: The Forces of the Emperor lands as the faction book, with lore, army rules, and profiles for the Legio Custodes, Anathema Psykana, and Divisio Assassinorum. Better still, it supports full Custodes armies and smaller allied contingents, which is exactly the kind of flexibility Horus Heresy players love.

The Rest of the Preview Has Plenty of Bite

The Heresy side also gets the Glaive, a Fellblade-chassis super-heavy built around a brutal volkite carronade, plus sponson options for lascannons, laser destroyers, or heavy bolters.

Then Journal Tactica: Mailed Fist arrives with lore, new unit profiles, and Leviathan Missions for huge asymmetrical armored battles.

Meanwhile, The Old World gets a nostalgic Made to Order wave of classic metal Orc and Goblin Tribes kits, led by a Black Orc Bigboss, command models, Orc Boyz, and a Goblin Rock Lobber, with orders opening on the GW site through 30 March and delivery windows up to 180 days.

On the hobby side, GW is also pushing a beginner Warhammer Colour Tools Set, a 20-die Warhammer Dice Set, and a simpler new Painting Handle, while confirming the older spring-loaded handle stays in the range.

Finally, Warhammer+ adds a Stormcast versus Nurgle Battle Report, a Red Corsairs Loremasters episode, and an Ultimate Paint-off on drybrushing.

Summary

Overall, this preview feels nicely balanced. The Custodes clearly carry the hype, yet the support releases give the week real depth.
