Adepta Sororitas – Narrative Review (Part 3)

At the end of a good campaign, people remember the units that became unreasonably good, not the scorelines.

This final post in the three-part series (Part 1 covered Trials of a Living Saint, Part 2 the Agendas and Requisitions) covers the last two major chunks of the Sororitas Crusade Rules section: “Battle Traits” and “Crusade Relics.” Battle Traits are the long-term upgrades your units roll or earn as they level.

Crusade Relics are the special wargear-style rewards that turn Characters, and especially your Living Saint, into signature threats. A few days ago, Part 2 covered Agendas and Requisitions, and now we’re looking at the upgrades that make your Order feel like it has campaign history baked into the datasheets.

Battle Traits that build a real identity

Infantry and Paragon Warsuits get the richest trait pool, and it supports multiple playstyles. You see durability tech that blunts pressure, leadership insurance that keeps units from folding at the wrong moment, and momentum tools that increase reliability in combat. The standout theme is resource conversion: traits that either spend Miracle dice for a premium defensive or offensive swing, or traits that let you perform more Acts of Faith over the course of a turn. That meshes well with detachments that already reward high Act of Faith throughput, because it turns “Sisters flavor” into “Sisters advantage.”

Penitent unit traits are tighter and meaner. They push speed, commitment, and payoff on the turn you hit, which is exactly what you want in a campaign where penitent pieces tend to die often. When these units start generating value even as they burn out, your roster stops feeling like it’s throwing away points for vibes.

Character traits are the boss package: improved reliability, survivability, and in some cases better access to Miracle dice flow through the campaign. That matters because your saint track, your relics, and many of your best tactical moments all ask you to discard dice at the right time. A Character that keeps the dice coming becomes a campaign anchor.

Vehicle traits lean into utility and staying power. The best ones solve Crusade problems like attrition, chip damage, and mission steadiness, which is what you want from pieces that are supposed to survive across many games.

Relics that match 10th’s resource gameplay

10th’s relic list is shorter than 9th’s, but each relic has a clear job. Some are simple stat and durability upgrades, while others lean into spike mode by letting you spend Miracle dice for dramatic defensive turns. There are also relics that push your Crusade structure itself, like enabling more agenda control, which is a massive deal in a campaign environment. Finally, the Living Saint-only legendary weapon functions like a capstone, turning your saint into a character-hunting finisher that changes how opponents deploy.

What changed from 9th edition

9th edition Battle Traits and relics often referenced older mechanical assumptions and niche sub-systems. 10th consolidates and modernizes, leaning harder on Battle-shock, mission control, and Miracle dice spending. Several familiar relic names return, but their jobs shift toward 10th’s core flow: objective control, resource spikes, and consistent timing windows, instead of the more scattered toolkit feel 9th sometimes had.

The 10th edition Sororitas Crusade package rewards players who plan resource flow across turns, not just across phases. If you build Battle Traits and relics around a clear Miracle dice economy, your force becomes both stronger and more memorable across the whole campaign.
