This week’s Warhammer+ lineup hits a little bit of everything. First, there is an exclusive teaser for the upcoming animation Adepta Sororitas: Penitence.
Then, the schedule swings into hobby talk, writing advice, and a proper monster battle report. So whether you paint, read, or just love dice violence, there is something here. And since I always need background noise while hobbying, this slate looks perfect.
Armies of Renown: Darcy’s narrative Mechanicus and an easy marble recipe
On Armies of Renown, Warhammer staffer Darcy talks through his narrative driven Mars Theta-9 Containment Force. He admits he agreed before the reality of being on camera sank in, yet he ended up loving it. Moreover, he hopes the episode pushes hobbyists to experiment, kitbash, and have fun. The standout detail is his marble work on Imperial Knight shoulder pads, and he breaks it into eight clear stages.
He starts with a smooth surface and a light base, using Corax White for contrast. Then he wets the area with clean water and drags very thinned shade like Nuln Oil in sideways streaks, letting the water soften the edges. After it dries, he adds random thin lines with a small brush using Nuln Oil straight, then optionally tidies with the base color.
Next he highlights under parts of darker lines using White Scar, and finally seals it with Ardcoat gloss. The goal is rough, irregular lines and a sheen that catches light differently than nearby trim.
Battle Report and Scribes and Scriveners
This week’s Battle Report is pure bio horror. Hive Fleet Leviathan piles into Daemon Primarch Mortarion, trying to drop the Death Guard boss for good. Meanwhile, Scribes and Scriveners features Robbie MacNiven, Jonathan D Beer, and Denny Flowers discussing Black Library open submissions. They share what it takes to succeed, plus the specific challenges of writing Warhammer fiction.
Summary
This week’s Warhammer+ offers a Penitence teaser, a hobby focused Mechanicus episode with a practical marble technique, and a Leviathan versus Mortarion battle report for your painting playlist. Moreover, the Black Library author panel is useful if you ever want to submit your own story. Finally, the article reminds that a yearly sub includes a diorama mini choice, unlimited list building in the 40k and AoS apps, and Vault access through your My Warhammer login.
