If Rogue Trader had you trekking across the Koronus Expanse and secretly wishing you could trade your warrant of trade for a rosette and a righteous cause, we’ve got good news.
Owlcat Games is not done with the 41st Millennium—and their next project hits an entirely different corner of it.
Their next big RPG adaptation is none other than Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy, bringing the classic tabletop roleplaying experience to PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.
In Dark Heresy, you’ll serve as a band of mismatched but deadly operatives under the command of a shadowy Inquisitor, rooting out heresy across the stars. The debut trailer already teased a ravenous Kroot and a sinister Night Lord, which suggests this is going to be a dark, brutal journey into the heart of the Imperium’s paranoia-fueled justice. Expect moral dilemmas, ancient secrets, and plenty of opportunities to purge—or be purged.
Boltgun 2 Announced – Malum Caedo Reloads
Of course, no Warhammer Skulls celebration would be complete without a return to everyone’s favourite snarling boomer-shooter, and we’re thrilled to report: Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 is officially happening.
Malum Caedo, the Ultramarines’ most gloriously unhinged one-man-army, is back in an all-new non-linear single-player campaign. Set immediately after the original game’s ending, this sequel throws him against the skull-worshipping hordes of Khorne, and he’s going to need a lot more ammo.
Expect new weapons, new arenas of pixelated mayhem, and a soundtrack that still slaps harder than a chainsword to the face. Boltgun 2 launches on Steam, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.
Boltgun: Words of Vengeance – Type to Purge
If you ever thought the real weapon of a Space Marine was vocabulary, you’re in luck. As a surprise bonus, Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun – Words of Vengeance is out right now, and it’s free to download on Steam.
This fast-paced typing game drops you back into the bolt-armoured boots of Malum Caedo, but now your reflexes aren’t tested by aim—they’re tested by spelling. Type your way through classic Boltgun levels, destroying daemons and cultists by accurately inputting words plucked straight from Warhammer lore. Yes, that includes “Ghazghkull.”
It’s delightfully weird, surprisingly fun, and honestly a clever way to brush up on 40K terms before your next quiz night.
From the Inquisition to blood-soaked demon worlds, the future of Warhammer video games is looking grimdark and very fun. Whether you’re hunting heretics or learning to spell “Nurgling” under pressure, there’s never been a better time to plug in and purge.
