Nine is the number of the Great Schemer, and today, his swirling currents of change bestow nine arcane gifts upon the faithful.
These aren’t baubles or trifles—no, these are weapons of destiny, twisted truths, and infernal inspiration for your Arcanite warbands in the season of Ghyran.
The Presence of Lydia, Master of Undeniable Lore
Our first gift is a voice of authority: Lydia, a seer whose insights shape the weave of fate. She brings clarity (or something close to it) to the strange manifestations in the Mortal Realms.
Battle Formations to Reshape the Battlefield
Two new Battle Formations now empower Tzeentchian armies with strategic nuance worthy of the Changer of Ways:
- Master of Fate rewards synergy between Arcanite mortals and Daemons. With this formation, your mortals become emboldened near Tzeentchian Daemons—perfect for combined-arms armies that seek to overwhelm both mind and matter.
- Spellweaver Coven unleashes true chaos. It grants mortal wizards the power to cast in the Combat Phase, allowing you to turn even a melee into a magic phase. Why rely on blades when you can liquefy minds?
Three Artefacts, Three Paths to Power
The middle tier of our ninefold offering brings relics infused with raw sorcery:
- The Mutating Blade shifts its form with every strike, making it unpredictable and difficult to counter. A blade one moment, a daemon-tongue the next—each blow resonates with eldritch transformation.
- Arcane Siphon isn’t just about cancelling enemy spells or manifestations; it rewards you for doing so, healing your hero as they disrupt the Realms’ magical balance.
- The Spell-catcher Amulet doesn’t just snuff out manifestations. It devours their essence and transmutes it into a more… Tzeentch-appropriate spell. Pure sorcerous recycling.
Updated Warscrolls: Magic-Fueled Mayhem
Two key units are refined under the season’s twisted magic:
- Kairic Acolytes are now more attuned to nearby manifestations. These cultists grow more formidable in the arcane aether, especially as their Vulcharcs dart out to spy on enemy weaknesses and whisper back secrets—Tzeentch loves a good secret.
- Ogroid Thaumaturge now embodies mystical devotion. Arcanite units shield him from harm, and if they’re locked in battle while he’s afar, he can teleport across the field to support them—an arcane safeguard, and a show of bizarre camaraderie.
General’s Handbook Fact #6: Objective Clarity
The new objective markers in the GHB box aren’t just pretty—they’re practical. Each sits at the centre of a 3″ radius disc and uses durable, flexible PET material (surely a rejected Tzeentch daemon name). With battleplan-specific icons printed directly on them, there’s no confusion when determining control zones. The days of mismeasured circles are gone—these markers bring clarity to an otherwise ever-changing game.
Stay tuned as the tides of fate turn once more—something nautical stirs in the deeps… and change is coming.
