The Ironjawz don’t do subtle.
They don’t scheme, they don’t whisper in shadows, and they certainly don’t care for your magic tricks. What they do is smash, and the new Scourge of Ghyran update gives them even more excuses to get stuck in and leave nothing but green-tinged ruin in their wake.
Formations Built for Mayhem
Two new battle formations have been forged in the fires of raw aggression. Brutefist cranks the dial on Mighty Destroyers, letting more units benefit from that glorious ability to pile forward before the fight even starts. If you like your turn ones fast and full of fists, this is the pick. Then there’s Bigsnikkaz – made for those moments when your ladz square up to something bigger than themselves. The bigger the target, the harder they hit. Simple math, Ironjawz-style.
These aren’t clever tricks or nuanced setups – they’re direct paths to violence, as Gork (or possibly Mork) intended.
Monstrous Traits That Make a Mess
Ironjawz monsters have always been a spectacle, and now they’ve got three new tricks to bring the pain. Big ’un boosts their armour-cracking potential, letting them peel back plate and hide like a hot choppa through squigfat. Mad ’un is for those moments where subtlety dies – a foaming frenzy of destruction where the monster just keeps stomping. Then there’s Fast ’un, a once-per-game Hero Phase move that sets up a brutal early charge or lets your beast snatch an objective while the enemy’s still blinking.
New Warscrolls: Gore-gruntas and Wrekkaz Get Meaner
The Gore-gruntas have been supercharged. Once liable to get tar-pitted by hordes of infantry, they now just flatten them. Their charge deals extra damage through both rider and mount, and they’re particularly nasty when paired with the Bigsnikkaz formation – beast-hunting has never been so satisfying.
Then there’s the Weirdbrute Wrekkaz, who’ve gone right off the deep end in the lush madness of Ghyran. Maybe it’s the spores, maybe it’s the green everywhere, maybe they just cracked a bit harder than usual. Either way, their presence on the battlefield sends nearby Ironjawz into a frenzy, as the boys follow their lead in a glorious riot of violence.
They’re not just crazy – they’re contagious.
GHB Fact #5 – Leftover Points? Spend Smart
Got 80 points left in your 2,000-point roster and nothing obvious to fill the gap? The new General’s Handbook battlepack lets you spend those points on select faction terrain, enhancements, spell lores, or battle formations. While most remain free, a few especially powerful picks now cost a modest 20–30 points – a perfect way to optimise your list without shoehorning in filler.
