Oi, humie! Forget yer glowy Stormboiz and fancy words, ’cause the Gloomspite Gitz just got a bunch of fungal-fueled lunacy injected into the General’s Handbook 2025–26 …
with new formations, spells, and updated Fanatics rules that hit harder than a squig on a sugar rush. Our guide through the mushroom mists is none other than Lewis da Boggleye, and he says: dance or suffer!
Formations That Make da Moon Smile
The Gitz are all about mayhem in numbers—or teeth. Two new formations serve up battlefield chaos in classic Moonclan fashion:
- Gittish Tide: Even if your Moonclan Grots aren’t swarming all over an objective, their sheer volume of noise and unpredictable footwork counts them in as contesting. Distracting? Yup. Effective? You bet.
- Sunbiter Pack: Focuses on Gitmob companions—especially those good ol’ Snarlfang Riders—and makes their bite attacks nastier. Because who doesn’t love a gobbo with fangs?
New Spells: Frazzlegit for the Win
Grots and sunlight usually don’t mix, but the Lore of Frazzlegit changes that:
- Bright Fright: Your grots run away—on purpose! Perfect for disengaging from a fight you’d rather avoid.
- Gitspeed: Gives your units a turbo boost, encouraging them to sprint toward the foe or bounce across the field like demented spores.
This lore’s all about unpredictable movement and weird tactics—just like the gitz themselves.
Fanatics Are Back (And Somehow Even Deadlier)
Two warscroll rewrites crank the Fanatic factor up to 11:
- Loonsmasha Fanatics now launch right from your Stabba or Shoota units at point-blank range, ricocheting through enemies like a squig in a tumble dryer—causing mortal wounds to everything they pass through.
- Sporesplatta Fanatics go full chaos engine—moving, charging, attacking, then hitting again in the End phase. If your opponent thought their backline was safe, think again. These madlads spin right through it.
Battle Tactics Overhaul: Pick Yer Poison
The new General’s Handbook introduces a major shake-up to battle tactics. Now, you pick two tactic cards, each with a theme—like scouting, killing stuff, or claiming objectives. Each card has three sequential tactics, and you’ve got the whole game to tick ‘em off in order. They get harder as you go, so you’ll need clever planning.
The Scouting Force card suits fast movers—perfect for Idoneth Deepkin or Skaven. Not so great for slow-and-steady types like the Maggotkin of Nurgle… or, let’s be honest, most of your average Moonclan shufflers (unless they’re boosted by Gitspeed!).
Conclusion: Get Spinnin’, Get Bashin’, Get Gitzin’
This update is a mushroom-fueled goldmine for Gloomspite Gitz players. You get hilarious tactical advantages, movement tricks, and Fanatics that hit harder, faster, and twice. Whether you’re outwitting your enemies with sneaky grots or wrecking their lines with unpredictable lunatics, the Scourge of Ghyran is treating the Gitz right.
Just remember: don’t trust the wind. It might be grots. Or ghosts. Or worse… a squig with a grudge.
