Reading the 40k Roadmap

While we have just had our first preview of the year, it has also given us some more clues as to how 2025 will play out for 40k!

We have confirmation that this will be a big year for chaos as all the cult legions will be getting codexes this year. Most will be like the Death Guard and only get a new model or two I imagine. After that GW left us with a bunch of teasers.

Several of these are simple:

  • The top left looks to be Grey Knights, which follows in a year of chaos. The image looks liek it is the front of a space marine leg.
  • The bottom left is almost certainly Black Templars.
  • The bottom right appears to be a Chaos Knight. This makes sense in a year of chaos as well as being paired with the Imperial Knight codex.

The last image doesn’t appear to be too cryptic, but what it signifies is a bit of a mystery. It looks like a Salamander marine which is odd as usually these codex-compliant chapters don’t get codexes. This could herald a change in GW’s strategy or perhaps a campaign book featuring a re-born Vulkan He’stan?

Who can say? What do you expect in the coming year for 40k?
