Hot on the heels of their announcement of the new Orc Infantry plastic kit, North Star Military Figures has released our first image of the box art, as well as detailed images of the sprues and the metal characters that will be released at the same time. Let’s take a look!
North Star’s new Orc Infantry kit will come with everything you need to build 30 miniatures. True to North Star’s methodology on their previous kits, the Orc Infantry will come with six identical sprues with five bodies, a variety of head options, a banner pole, and enough weapons to arm all five orcs from the sprue uniformly, if necessary. This kit comes with shields, as well as single and double handed weapons in a wide variety.
In my previous post about the kit I said it would build 15 minis, which was my mistake. The two units pictured below were both made from a single box, not two.
The kit comes with banner poles, but no command sprue, as we sometimes see from Games Workshop or The Perry Bros. Instead, North Star likes to release a set of characters alongside their plastic kits, which includes a musician, and usually several commander options, as well as more unique characters, such as mages. Below is a pic of the metal characters for this kit, and the second picture is them set up with some hastily assembled plastic orcs.
