Hey Blood Bowl coaches! It’s that time of year again – the Blood Bowl design team has dropped their biannual FAQ update, and it’s packed with some game-changing adjustments. Let’s dive into the details and see what’s new on the pitch!
Underworld Denizens: Swarming No More!
So, Underworld Denizens have been ruling the roost for a while now, especially with their Swarming trait allowing Underworld Snotlings to flood the pitch. It was getting a bit crazy, right? Well, the design team decided to dial things back a notch. The Swarming trait is now removed from Underworld Snotlings. This means no more overwhelming the opposition with a flood of tiny green nuisances. This change is all about leveling the playing field, making sure the Denizens are still competitive but not overpowered.
Fouling and Guard: Rebalancing the Meta
The fouling meta has been on the rise, with coaches prioritizing fouling their opponents off the pitch. Previously, players with the Guard skill could provide assists to both offensive and defensive foul actions, making fouling a bit too effective. The update changes this: now, Guard only provides assists to Block actions. This tweak is designed to reduce the prevalence of fouling and shift the focus back to strategic plays and positioning.
Goblin Bommas: Better Bombers
Here’s a fun one for all you Goblin coaches! Goblin Bommas have now gained access to Passing skills on Primary rather than Secondary. This aligns them with Snotling Fungus Flingas and makes them even better at chucking bombs. Time to start practicing those explosive plays!
Bloodlust Clarifications
The Bloodlust (X+) trait has had a few interactions clarified in this FAQ:
- Prone Players: Yes, a player has to take Bloodlust if they begin their activation prone.
- Stunned Again: If a stunned player is bitten and stunned again, the interactions are now clearly defined.
- Foul Appearance: How Bloodlust interacts with Foul Appearance has also been clarified.
These clarifications should clear up any confusion and ensure smoother gameplay.
Gnomes: Clearing the Air
The newest addition to Blood Bowl, the Gnomes, have brought some unique traits to the game. There was a bit of confusion regarding the Trickster trait, so the FAQ provides some much-needed clarity. Also, remember the Halfling Master Chef? The discounted rates now only apply to Halfling teams, as initially intended.
