Key Features
- Cyberwolves are great units for the mission while being incredibly small so they’re also easy to hide, hard to argue with that.
- Long Fangs in a Drop Pod is a combination as wonderful as peanut butter and jelly, they can drop down from deep strike and pick up most hard targets. An armorium cherub just the extra efficiency to ensure absolute destruction
- Wolf Guard play the same role as vanguard veterans with jump packs, moving quickly, being durable, and lightning claws meaning they’ll cut apart most things on the charge. Especially during assault doctrine when they have exploding hits
- Land Speeder storms and scouts exert amazing board control and action potential, being nearly perfect mission units
- Watch out for characters in this list, the Lt provides fight last via the Armor of Russ, the Primaris Chaplain on bike provides a hyper mobile force multiplier that can keep up with the jump pack units, and finally the chapter master who hits hard with Imperium’s Sword and then frost weapon lightning claws are impressively dangerous with S5 and D2 and full wound rerolls his hunter saga is also easily achievable (charge a unit) meaning units within 6” can advance and charge and fall back and charge
TLDR
- Small units, hard hitting units, and some scalpel that can come in from reserves mean you can handle most any problem.
Jaime Paris Q&A
- What is the general strategy behind your list?
The list is divided into 3 sections. Shooting units (Intercessors + long fangs), Combat (wolf guard + characters), and Mission-play (dogs, speeders, scouts). The idea is that I have a little bit of everything, from the 4 multimeltas in the long fangs and scattered combi-meltas on random units, to the high-volume output intercessors who can shoot twice with a stratagem. Depending on the matchup, terrain, and mission, each section of the list must either do the damage or be the sacrifice. For example, against Drukhari, the intercessors are very good at killing low toughness vehicles and bodies, so I will use my Wolf Guard to force their incubi and courts into the open. Against marines and knights, the low ap of the intercessors don’t do much, so I will use the Transhuman stratagem on them so soak up fire as my Wolf Guard get into position. The scouts are there to score me a lot of points doing engage and ROD, as well as move blocking or even sniping a character with the meltas if they are miss-positioned. The dogs score Oath of Moment and screen deepstrikes. I try to hold the Wolf Guard back as long as possible, using my troops to trade early, score primary and do some damage. Late game is when I go full in, where I can put a dent in my opponent’s primary score with some good movement, and they don’t have enough time to recover. However, the list is very capable of rushing the opponent and going for a mass turn 2 charge. If my opponent has good artillery, such as tyranids with their hiveguard, I am forced to deploy on the line, weather a turn or two (if I go second) and charge in with whatever is left alive. The only thing keeping my firstborn marines alive is storm shields, so it does not always go well.
Essentially the list is made out of small units, who can do a lot of damage individually. Through stratagems such as +1 to wound in combat, or ignore modifiers, my Wolf Guard and Long Fangs can trade for big units. While my opponent dedicates recourses to kill them, my mission-play units are scoring me points.
- What was the most challenging matchup of the weekend and why?
Round 3 was the hardest in terms of matchup vs Tyranids. Hiveguard are a very big problem as most my units are not Primaris and cannot transhuman. Due to their range, and now their reliability, I have to rush. With strong and fast combat elements, any mistake I make when I do rush gets punished. It is not a typical gunline, and that makes it very complicated. This means that I have to set up multiple opportunities to tag the hiveguard, whilst playing the mission. If I suffer a third turn of hiveguard shooting I have probably lost the game, so I have to spot any screening mistakes that my opponent might make. I am more worried about the classical tyrranid build of huge horde units and the hiveguard in the back than the new crushing stampede build as with the latter, there are a lot more gaps for my small units to move around and get into the hiveguard. And as I mentioned before, my Wolf Guard are capable of killing these big units in combat, trading up. With the big hordes, if my Wolf Guard are at half strength, they no longer have the volume of attacks to clear bodies.
- What was your MVP unit for the event?
The scouts have been scoring me points very reliably. Having the option to score 12 on ROD is very powerful when you have a matchup that is not in your favour. It allows you to commit minimal resources to score high on a secondary, allowing the rest of the army to play the game. But MV goes to the cyberwolves. They scored me tons of Oath of Moment points. They tagged hiveguard, they survived a Raveger focus-firing one, they did so much work! People always forget about them, until they contest an objective and deny primary. Then they start overkilling all my cyber-wolves.

Key Features
- Twisted Helix gives a lot of straight characteristic boosts that just make things better, +1 S and +1 movement makes your units get into combat faster and hit harder. It’s hard to argue with straight buffs that will make a melee list hit harder, and oh boy is this a melee list.
- Twisted Helix gives a relic and warlord trait that take the Patriarch from a modestly killy unit and make it significantly more efficient by giving it flat 3 damage on its claws (bio-alchemist) and then you get additional buffs via the sub-faction relic (Elixir of the Prime Specimen) which can give the Patriarch a 5+++ and exploding 6’s in combat.
- Tacking on a Primus with Alien Majesty means your auras are much larger, meaning you can achieve some beautiful things with board control
- Unit upgrades really let you cook with gas by taking advantage of different faction features. For the acolytes, A Perfect Ambush means they can come in from the undergound and select a unit within 12” to have cross fire and be exposed
- They Came From Below means you can place a unit underground instead of in ambush and after coming in from ambush the unit can move as if it were the movement phase as long as they remain outside of 9”; then Our time is Nigh means your unit gets +1 to its attack characteristics. This all means you can leverage some serious shenanigans to boost combat units through movement or through additional attacks
- being S5 genestealers and metamorphs will do some horrible things to your opponent if they can make it in
- Never forget the kellemorph who has flat 3 damage bullets with the Wyrmtooth relic
- Atalan jackals also provide wonderful board control
TLDR
- Control the board, murder everything, throw down the bourgeoisie in the name our star gods
TJ Lanigan Q&A
- What is the general strategy behind your list?
General strategy is to hit isolated units that are alone to punch and disappear with the strategem. Go for rod, stranglehold, banners, or board control secondaries. Purestrain genestealers are great with the advance and charge! They even have an auto 6 for advance that is super important.
The important strats are the ability to disappear after combat and making units fight last as well as advancing and charging with units that aren’t pure strain genestealers.
- What was the most challenging matchup of the weekend and why?
Was definitely the last match which was custodes it was just a tough mission and not of reason to establish board control with only 4 objectives. He also had tons of difficult to kill shooting.
- What was your MVP unit for the event?
MVP was definitely the kellermorph. He’s great with the relic rounds. He is basically my only shooting so it’s great that he can move out of harms way when he’s done shooting. One game He picked up an entire unit of hive guard, and in the final he almost one shot a callidus.
In the final the purestrain genestealers definitely pulled the game out of the fire killing two shield captains by themselves!

Key Features
- Crusher stamped stuff goes here
- The Tervigon? This is a first, well the Tervigon provides a useful synaptic link ability of rerolling wound rolls of 1-2 for ranged attacks. Which when combined with Hive Guard makes them somehow even more efficient.
- Bio-weapon bond provides the +1 to hit and then swarm leader means you can have chapter master rerolls. Alongside the Leviathan tesla stratagem you can cook most units at range, or in melee if that’s your jam (which it probably is if you’re playing crusher stampede).
- Adaptive Neural lobe means you’ll constantly regenerate CP, which you’ll need to continue using important stratagems.
- Murderous size, Synaptic Hive Blades, and wings on the Hive Tyrant means you can use it to kill especially troublesome units or characters
- Swarmlord as always lets you just whip units at your opponent or around the table
- Harpies again? This must be a thing now
TLDR
- 12 Hive Guard, 2 Harpys, and a Tervigon. All in crusher and Leviathan means it brings the pain via durability buffs, and force multiplying auras.
