If you checked Warhammer Community today, this was a fun split. One post was pure event loot talk. Meanwhile, the other was a full blast of old-school 40K hero energy. Also, both pieces felt aimed at the part of the hobby that loves keepsakes and iconic characters.
2026 Warhammer Open Swag Boxes

The swag box article is basically GW saying event goodies matter, and this year they really leaned into it. Every ticket holder gets the standard box, and that already looks solid, with a convertible box that becomes a painting station, a cutting mat, a store voucher, a soft-touch notepad and pen, a lanyard, poker-chip tokens, metal dice, and stickers.

However, the premium box is where things get spicy, because it adds a Horus Heresy cloth patch, a Legion coin, acrylic dry-erase scoresheets, gameplay tokens, a combat gauge, a collapsible paint water cup, and both event miniatures, Cadia Unbroken and Dawner’s Reward.

Also, the article smartly highlights that the box itself is useful, not just packaging, which is exactly the kind of detail hobbyists appreciate. Then it closes by reminding people the Open is about games, hobby time, and meeting other players, not just free stuff.

The Saviour of Armageddon Returns
The Yarrick post is short, but it absolutely knows its audience. Armageddon is burning, the Orks are everywhere, and GW is bringing Commissar Sebastian Yarrick back with a new miniature that clearly nods to his older models.

Also, the sculpt keeps the classic pose, with the stolen power klaw raised high, while carrying over the blazing bionic eye, sash, epaulettes, and hat. However, this version also looks noticeably older, with servo-assisted callipers helping hold him together, which honestly suits Yarrick perfectly.

Then the article adds a nice little grim touch by pointing out the laspistol at his hip, the same one he uses in the animation above. Meanwhile, the final tease is that more on Yarrick and the wider Armageddon war is coming soon.

Summary
Overall, this was a neat pair of updates. One sells the event experience, while the other sells pure 40K legend. Also, the swag boxes look more useful than usual, and Yarrick looks exactly as stubborn as he should.
