The Corsairs may have grabbed the first big spotlight. However, the real nostalgia crit is the Vyper refresh.
If you played Eldar back in the day, you know that silhouette. Also, if you started later, you have still seen it in art forever. So this update feels like a proper craftworld rite.
Why the Vyper mattered in the first place
Joel, Warhammer Community’s resident Asuryani fan, calls the Vyper an icon of Aeldari style and grace. Moreover, it has been in collections since 1997, which is older than plenty of current players. It always looked like a speed freak gun platform, built to dart, strafe, and keep shooting. Therefore, the streamlined chassis, clear canopy, and rear gunner seat became classic Aeldari visual language.
What’s new in the kit and what stayed classic
Thankfully, the new kit keeps the familiar cues and all the same weapon options. However, it adds fresh design ideas that will match modern jetbikes beautifully. You also get an alternate build, the Starfang, an Anhrathe custom Vyper. In addition, Starfang brings different pilots, decorative filigree and ribbons, plus a mixed weapon loadout nicked from other Aeldari factions.
The canopy options are a nice hobby flex too. You can pick from four clear canopy designs, two full canopies and two windscreens. Furthermore, each style can be built with a blank display or the classic triangle rune, which is a lovely throwback.
Turrets, loadouts, and that rotating trick
The weapons are familiar, but the setup shifts a bit. Notably, the missile launcher can now sit underslung, replacing the shuriken cannon option. As a result, you can mix weapons in new combos and lean harder into dedicated armour busting builds.

Visually, the biggest change is the gunner now gets an extra shell of armour. More importantly, the upper turret is engineered to rotate and then lock into a lowered firing position. So you can pose it high or low on either the Vyper or the Starfang. Also, yes, you will absolutely spend idle minutes swivelling it, because it rules.
Summary
Overall, this feels like a sleek homage to a beloved kit that has served for nearly three decades, now updated without losing its soul. Consequently, jetbike heavy Aeldari players, especially Saim Hann diehards, are going to want at least one. Finally, the standalone Vyper and the Corsair minis from the recent battleforce are due very soon, so keep an eye on the Sunday Previews at 6pm GMT for the exact drop, as noted in the article.
