Warhammer lore never runs out of runway, and honestly that is part of the hobby’s charm. One week you are knee deep in Primarch drama.
Then you are suddenly rooting for a filthy penal legion to survive one more firefight. So this announcement lands like a tidy resupply drop for your reading pile. Four new books are coming, and they cover a great spread of tones and factions. Moreover, they mix fresh leads with fan favorites, which is usually the sweet spot.
Ghazghkull Thraka: Warlord of Warlords
If you have ever wondered what it is like to serve under Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka, the answer is simple: dangerous, loud, and probably hilarious. The main character here is Slitta da Stabba, a newly minted Blood Axe warboss learning that Ghazghkull’s momentum does not slow down for anybody. When Ghazghkull picks a Blood Axe world for a climactic showdown with the Black Templars, things get spicy fast. Even other Orks start thinking about taking down the Beast of Armageddon, which is the most Ork political crisis imaginable. Therefore, Slitta gets stuck between treacherous allies and vengeful crusaders, and he has to pick a side quickly. The novel is written by Denny Flowers, who already has solid Ork credentials.
The Infinite and the Divine: Illustrated and Annotated Edition
Trazyn and Orikan are back, and this time they are showing off. The Infinite and the Divine by Robert Rath is getting an illustrated and annotated edition, which is basically the deluxe hobby desk version. It is still the same epic grudge match stretched across thousands of years, with fights, courtroom drama, and constant petty genius. However, this edition adds author insights and new illustrations. So even if you know every punchline, it should still feel fresh.
Chem Dog and Grombrindal: two very different flavors
Chem Dog follows Commissar Bastun Hasp, who wanted a clean heroic regiment and instead got the Savlar Chem Dogs. They are penal legion troopers chasing absolution through death, and Hasp does not respect them at first. Still, he must lead a kill team through enemy packed terrain to grab vital intelligence. The twist is that he needs them more than they need him, so trust becomes the real battlefield. This is Callum Davis’s first full length Black Library novel, and it builds on his earlier short story about Hasp.
Meanwhile, Grombrindal: The Legend of the White Dwarf gathers the White Dwarf’s adventures into one collected tome. These stories were serialized in White Dwarf magazine, and now they are finally in one place. So if you like mysterious wandering hero energy, this is your book.
Summary
Four new Black Library books are heading to pre order soon: an Ork warboss survival story under Ghazghkull, a deluxe illustrated return of The Infinite and the Divine, a gritty Chem Dogs commissar mission about learning trust, and a collected Grombrindal anthology. Moreover, the announcement points readers toward Black Library Celebration week for more news.
