The Realm of Life is calling, and it is not subtle about it. Today’s reveal leans hard into perfume ad vibes, then swerves into pure murder-gardening.
Meanwhile, Ghyran is still buried under Nurgle’s stink, so “freshening up” means violence. Therefore, the Sylvaneth answer with the Grove Guardian. And honestly, it is the most stylish way to mulch a daemon I have seen in a while.
The Grove Guardian: nurturing seeds, but also ending Pox-Wretches
Grove Guardians are described as caretakers of fallen lamentiri seeds, which grow into new Sylvaneth. However, they are also presented as eager to share their love of chopping Nurgle’s detritus into paste with grove sickles.
The miniature itself sounds loaded with story. You can spot them watering delicate flowers growing from jagged branches. Meanwhile, a newly formed Sylvaneth sleeps in a pod, and little critters crawl over the ancient wood. So it is equal parts serene nursery and executioner shrine, which is peak Sylvaneth energy.
New Battletome: Sylvaneth and the full warscroll refresh
The Grove Guardian arrives alongside a new Battletome: Sylvaneth. It includes the usual package of background lore, focusing on the Sylvaneth and their recent conflicts. In addition, it brings updated warscrolls for all 25 entries in the army list. Therefore, this is not a token refresh, it is a full army tune-up.
Three new boxed sets: Battleforce, Spearhead, and a roaming Regiment
A trio of boxed sets lands at the same time. First is the Battleforce: Strongroot Grove, framed as a thundering wall of wise, ancient tree-spirits. It includes three Treelords, which can alternatively be built as Treelord Ancients or Spirits of Durthu. It also includes six Kurnoth Hunters, and they can take greatswords, greatbows, or greatscythes.
Next is the Spearhead: Spitewing Flight, which is basically a movement phase flex. It brings 12 elite, fast models: an Arch-Revenant, three Revenant Seekers, three Spiterider Lancers, and five Gossamid Archers. They can fight at range or in melee, and they want to control space before closing in.
Finally, the Regiment of Renown: Twisted Branch takes Sylvaneth violence on tour. A Branchwych leads and provides magical healing. The rest is the former Warcry warband Twistweald, eight veterans led by a Swarmsage. They show up to help fight Nurgle, requested or not.
Summary
This reveal pairs a gorgeous, story-rich Grove Guardian with a full new battletome and refreshed warscrolls for 25 units. Moreover, it drops three boxes that cover big trees, fast skirmish flyers, and a plug-in Regiment of Renown. So, if you want Sylvaneth that feel like a living ecosystem and a murder squad, later this year is your season. Warhammer Community says it will share release dates and battletome contents as they get closer.
