Champions of Tabletop: Dwarf & Doom (Arlington, WA)

At Frontline Gaming, we believe local game stores are the backbone of the tabletop hobby. They’re more than retail spaces — they’re gathering places, creative hubs, and third homes for players of all kinds.
Today, we’re excited to spotlight Dwarf & Doom, a growing store in Arlington, Washington with a community-first vibe and a whole lot of heart.

Meet the Team

If you stop by Dwarf & Doom, you’ll most likely be talking with Jason Andrews. From day one, the goal has been straightforward: build a shop where people can show up, roll dice, sling spells, paint minis, and have a great time with good people.

Games & Communities

Dwarf & Doom supports a wide range of tabletop hobbies, with a focus on both competitive play and casual community nights:

They also have strong interest in newer or fast-growing communities, including Lorcana, One Piece, and Riftfound.

What Makes Dwarf & Doom Unique?

“The biggest little store around. Our community is the best, very friendly and helpful.”

That community-first identity shows up in everything they do — welcoming new players, supporting hobby growth, and keeping the vibe light without losing the love for skill and creativity.

What Tabletop Gaming Means Here

“It’s a game and we like to have. We don’t take it serious and also praises creativity and skill.”

In other words: show up, have fun, improve together, and enjoy the hobby for what it is.

Events & Organized Play

Yes — Dwarf & Doom runs an active schedule of events, including:

The Most Rewarding Part

“Seeing the community grow.”

That’s the through-line: the people are the point.

Challenges Along the Way

“Distributors.”

Every store owner reading this just nodded.

The Most Unique Characteristic

Some stores have mascots. Dwarf & Doom has Franz — the store corgi, who is always on duty and always ready for pets.

If the Store Were a Character…

Michelangelo from TMNT.

“He just wants to have fun and eat pizza. He can also kick ass when he needs to.”

Advice for Aspiring Store Owners

“Put a lot of time into your community. Listen to them and be open to new ideas. You may end up building something better than you imagined.”

A Fun Story From the Store

Dwarf & Doom’s community showed up in a big way when they were unexpectedly nominated for a major local award.

“We were unknowingly nominated for ‘2025 New Business of the Year.’ The Wednesday prior to the voting being closed we were informed and made the announcement via our discord. By Sunday we had shot to the top and eventually squeaked out the win. Our customers/community really pulled through for us without asking anything in return.”

That’s what “community-first” looks like in real life.

Dwarf & Doom & Frontline Gaming

Dwarf & Doom currently carries and uses a variety of FLG products in-store and for their events, including:

If you’re in the Arlington area, be sure to swing by, meet the crew, say hi to Franz, and catch an event.
