It has already been a strong start to the year with reveals coming in hot. However, next week the mood shifts hard into Chaos season.
So we are getting four Chaos themed battleforces plus fresh Old World kits. Meanwhile, Horus Heresy players also get new infantry and Terminator options. And on top of that, there are Black Library pre-orders and Warhammer+ shows to round it out.
Four Chaos Battleforces: Khorne, Tzeentch, Nurgle, and Slaanesh
The Khorne Daemonkin battleforce is pure melee pressure. It packs a Lord on Juggernaut that can also build as Lord Invocatus, plus a Master of Executions, six Bloodcrushers, 10 Khorne Berzerkers, and 20 Bloodletters. It also throws in a World Eaters transfer sheet with 200 decals, which is a nice bonus if you love clean iconography.
Sekhmet Coven is the Thousand Sons heavy hitters box. You get an Infernal Master, three Exalted Sorcerers, a Mutalith Vortex Beast, and 10 Scarab Occult Terminators. It also includes two Chaos Space Marines transfer sheets with 364 decals each, which is a lot of trim and symbols.
Vile Vectorium is the Nurgle mix of bodies and drones. It includes Lord Felthius with his Tainted Cohort of three Blightlord Terminators, plus three Deathshroud Terminators, three Foetid Bloat-drones, and 20 Poxwalkers. So it looks like a flexible core with speed, durability, and a pile of shambling wounds.
Lords of Excess is the Slaanesh flavored starter for Emperor’s Children. It comes with a Daemon Prince, 20 Infractors that can build as Tormentors, 12 Noise Marines, and four Emperor’s Children transfer sheets with 150 decals each. So it is loud, spiky, and ready for a full glam paint project.
Old World Marauders and Horus Heresy Staples
For The Old World, Chaos Marauder Horsemen arrive as 10 plastic cavalry. You can run them as one unit or two fives, and each group can have a Champion, musician, and banner. Also each set of five has 13 head options, and they can take hand weapon and shield or flails.
Chaos Marauders come as 20 plastic infantry with similar unit splits. They can take hand weapon and shield, great weapons, or flails, and they include a Warriors of Chaos transfer sheet with 246 decals.
For Horus Heresy, new Cataphractii Terminators come in two six man loadouts. One set has power mauls and volkite chargers, with a reaper autocannon option. The other has combi bolters and power fists, with a heavy flamer option.
Both sets offer shoulder pad trim choices, optional tilting plates, and Sergeant weapon options plus crests.
There is also a 10 man Breacher Squad with boarding shields, one handed bolters, plus a graviton gun and lascutter. If you already have bodies, a separate Breacher upgrade sprue gives the shields and arms for a full squad.
