Space Marine 2 Techmarine Class Preview: Turrets, Axe Sweeps, and Patch 12 Mayhem

Space Marine 2 is about to get even more tactical. Meanwhile, the game hits Xbox Game Pass on January 29.

So a lot of new players will jump in at once. Several weeks later, Patch 12 drops the Techmarine class. And because it is free, everyone gets to try it.

Where Techmarine Fits and What Modes It Supports

Techmarine becomes the seventh playable class alongside Tactical and Heavy. Also, it works in PvE and PvP modes like Operations and Eternal War. However, it will not show up in the Narrative Campaign. That campaign stays focused on Titus and his story. So the class is built for repeatable missions and multiplayer chaos.

How Techmarine Plays: Crowd Control With Machine Help

At its core, Techmarine is about area defense and crowd control. In melee, the Omnissian Axe gives wide swings into packed mobs. Meanwhile, its kit stays efficient at short and medium range. Like other classes, it has a Combat Skill and a 25 level perk tree. However, its signature flavor is the mechanical arms and the turret on the power pack. Activate the Servo Gun and it unloads heavy fire without manual aiming. Also, it can handle Gun Strikes for you after perfect dodges or parries. So you keep targeting priorities while the turret staggers threats.

Summary

The Techmarine also gets a mission utility twist. You can locate and service Tarantula Sentry turrets for extra automated support. They cannot be placed freely, yet they help until ammo runs dry or they get wrecked. Overall, Patch 12 looks like a serious reward for players who love control tools.
