Starcraft is jumping into tabletop fast, and it sounds like Archon wants zero downtime. In a Saturday AMA, CEO Jarek Ewertowski laid out the early plan.
Meanwhile, he positioned 2026 as a rapid-fire release year. However, the first big milestone is the Founders Edition pre-order window. So if you want in early, March is the key month.
Founders Edition Pre-orders and Starter Set Pricing
Archon says Founders Edition pre-orders will open no later than March 10, 2026. They could start sooner, if Blizzard sign-off lands quickly. Pre-orders then end March 31, so the window is tight.
Two discounted launch boxes lead the charge. First is a two-player Terran vs Zerg starter, with a $199 target price. Second is a Protoss starter, with a $109 target price, and both targets include taxes. That is not cheap, yet it sits in the same arena as Warhammer 40k starters. Also, Archon claims the two-player contents would be about $450 at MSRP.
What’s in the Boxes and What Comes Next
The two-player box is loaded with Terran Marines, shield Marines, Medics, Marauders, and Jim Raynor plus a drone. Meanwhile, the Zerg side brings Zerglings, raptor variants, Roaches, Kerrigan, a Queen, and a Nydus Worm. It also includes terrain, tokens, dice, and a play mat. The Protoss box includes Zealots, Adepts, Sentries, a Pylon, Artanis, plus tokens, dice, and force fields.
If everything is ready, you may buy them at Adepticon, March 26 to 29. Otherwise, wave one ships across April and May 2026. After that, June adds Heavy Support units, and August adds Psionics plus new Heroes. Between August and October, a Sam Pearson narrative campaign drops, and October adds Flyers. Finally, December brings Brood War ground units and more Heroes.
Summary
This launch plan is aggressive, and it feels like a real tabletop “build order.” However, the Founders window is short, so timing matters. The boxes look genuinely complete, and the roadmap stays busy through December. If you want deeper dev info, Archon points to Wargamer interviews and their Discord.
