Today’s GW update rides alongside 500 Worlds: Titus momentum. However, the standout changes hit other factions too.
Most importantly, Chaos Space Marines get real lift. Meanwhile, Adepta Sororitas pick up a new specialist tool.
Chaos Space Marines: Raptors and Warp Talons get real buffs
Raptors get a proper glow up through their new datasheet. Now, they can stack multiple heavy melee weapons per five models. So, you can load a champion power fist plus two more heavy melee picks. Additionally, one in five can swap a chainsword for a mutation profile like an Accursed Weapon.
Special weapons stay flamer, plasma, or melta, but you cannot double up at five models. However, at ten models you can take a second pair, still with no duplicates. Crucially, Raptors gain the GRENADES keyword, so they can soften targets before charging. Points rise to 110 for five and 210 for ten, yet the melee punch finally matches the cost.
Warp Talons also gain GRENADES, and their points do not change. Therefore, it’s a straight buff that helps them finish tougher units.
Adepta Sororitas: Celestian Insidiants arrive
Celestian Insidiants are a 10 model anti psyker squad with strong defensive tech. They get a 4+ Feel No Pain versus psychic and mortals. Also, they pick a quarry, then gain PRECISION and full hit rerolls into it.
They bring utility too, since Simulacrum can farm Miracle dice on objectives. Furthermore, their gear leans into Anti Psyker 4+ plus Devastating Wounds, including a nasty 3 damage Virge option. They cost 120 points, yet they feel matchup dependent.
Emperor’s Children: Court of the Phoenician gets smoother
Sensational Performance gets a quality of life buff. Now, you can double charge the same target and still benefit. However, you still cannot double attack that target and keep it for the second unit.
Summary
Overall, the update seriously upgrades jump infantry pressure for Chaos. Meanwhile, Sisters gain a flavorful hunter unit that could spike in the right meta. Finally, Court of the Phoenician becomes easier to pilot in real games.
