Sometimes the hobby calendar eases off the gas, and this is one of those weeks.
There are no big new pre orders landing, which actually gives everyone a breather from wallet panic. However, that does not mean nothing is happening in Warhammer land. Instead, this week is all about last minute gifts, comfy merch, and a few tasty media drops. It feels like the calm before the Grotmas storm rather than a dead stop.
Squig Slippers, Mega Hoodies, and Maximum Comfiness
The real star of this quiet week might be the return of the Squig Slipper Socks and Squig Mega Hoodie. These things blew up last time because they hit that perfect sweet spot of silly and actually cozy.
Now they are coming back on 13 December, giving hobbyists another crack at wrapping themselves in squig themed comfort. So you can sit painting Darkwater heroes dressed like a walking Squig fan club and be completely on brand.
Death World in Your Ears and Shows on Your Screen
On the narrative side, classic Catachan story Death World by Steve Lyons is getting an MP3 audiobook release. The book sends hardened Jungle Fighters to Rogar III, which turns out to be even worse than the usual death traps they call “normal.” Something is stalking them in the shadows while the orks rampage, which is peak Catachan chaos. It goes up for preorder next Friday, perfect for background listening while you build or paint.
At the same time, Warhammer TV is pushing more supporting content. A new Questing Nights episode tackles Darkwater, with the crew joined by one of the rules designers to fight Shaman Foulhoof. Painting fans also get a fresh Painting Desk, where Ed chats with ’Eavy Metal legend and Golden Demon hoarder Robin about competition standard painting. Deep Strike rounds things out as Alex, Sarah, and Wade unpack the Pariah Nexus animation, highlighting details you may have missed.
Grotmas Rolls On and a Big Winner Revealed
Warhammer Community keeps the Grotmas Calendar rolling alongside the usual articles, so there is still daily hobby sugar to snack on. Finally, the massive “50 Years of Warhammer” competition has its victor, with A. Baxendale from Coventry taking the prize. It is a nice capstone to a quieter week that still gives you plenty to read, watch, and wear while you prep for the next big wave.
