The wait has felt long, but the payoff is finally here. The concluding episodes of Blacktalon Season 2 have started dropping on Warhammer TV.
This run closes out the current arc for Neave and her storm-wreathed hit squad in the Mortal Realms. Additionally, the trailer is live if you want a tease before diving in. However, if you are like most of us, you will probably just slam play and binge straight away.
Where We Left Neave And The Blacktalons
The back half of Season 2 picks up right after the Stormrift Realmgate showdown. The Blacktalons have been battered by outside enemies and stabbed in the back from within. Neave herself is still riding high from decapitating Be lakor in Hammerhal, but victory came with huge cracks in her team. Additionally, Hendrick’s secret scheming is now out in the open, and trust is in short supply. She has also lost Shakana, her closest ally, who is now deep behind enemy lines.
Shakana is pulling the most ridiculous solo mission imaginable. During the battle of Hammerhal she slipped through the corrupted realmgate into Be lakor’s own realm. Now she has to sabotage the Dark Master’s plans from inside his citadel, while surrounded by fanatical Chaos worshippers. Additionally, she has no backup and no easy way out, so the new episodes are clearly going to lean into that tension. It is very much stealth Stormcast horror vibes.
Meanwhile, Hendrick has been exposed as the guy who has been quietly backstabbing Neave for what he insists are noble reasons. His half regular betrayals are now common knowledge among the Blacktalons. Additionally, whatever orders he was following, the rest of the team are unlikely to shrug and forgive him quickly. That interpersonal fallout is set up as a major emotional thread for the finale.
Lorai the Idoneth seer is still a question mark. Her motives have never been fully clear, which fits perfectly with how the Idoneth operate. Additionally, the article hints that we might finally get a clearer look at why she is really involved. At the very least, her magic will continue to do clutch work while everyone else is busy bleeding and arguing.
Rostus, the Oxenhammer, has come back from yet another reforging with a noticeably darker edge. Earlier in the season Eternus and his forces put him down hard. That last trip through the forges of Azyr has stripped away some of his old jovial personality. Additionally, it is uncertain how much of the Rostus we knew is actually left. The new episodes are very likely to probe that reforging trauma.
Eternus, Be’lakor, And The Shadow Hanging Over The Finale
Eternus might have been cut down already, but that was mostly to show off how cursed his own corrupted reforging really is. We already know from Chaos lore that death is more of a speed bump for him. Additionally, the article outright jokes that we clearly have not seen the last of him, since he appears in the trailer. Expect him to make a nasty return at some key moment.
Be lakor remains the main villain despite losing his head earlier. Getting decapitated is career ending for mortals, not for daemon princes. Additionally, he is still working his schemes against Hammerhal and keeping a very focused interest in Neave herself. The closing trio of episodes looks set to wrap that personal rivalry while still leaving plenty of hooks for future stories.
Neave In Resin – Weta’s Blacktalon Statue
If you are deep into Blacktalon fandom, Weta Workshop has gone completely over the top in the best way. They have produced a huge 1:6 scale statue of Neave mid sprint, axes spinning, hunting some unfortunate enemy of Sigmar. Additionally, the piece locks in an insane amount of detail, from the crackling whirlwind blades to her mid warcry expression. Even the discarded orruk helm at her feet is fully rendered.
Weta are taking orders for the statue right now. Consequently, if you have ever wanted a centrepiece display that screams Mortal Realms assassin energy, this is about as premium as it gets.
Other Warhammer TV Shows Joining The Lineup
Blacktalon is the headliner, but it is not the only content hitting Warhammer TV this week. On Loremasters, Alex dives into Ghyran, the Realm of Life, talking about its history and its many inhabitants. Additionally, it is a nice tie in if you are also following current Age of Sigmar narrative beats. On Citadel Colour Masterclass, Ed shows how to paint those shiny black body suits worn by Officio Assassinorum operatives. That kind of reflective black is notoriously tricky, so the guidance is very handy.
Meanwhile, Victory Pointers sees Josh talk through how to approach army building for Warhammer 40,000. It focuses on practical list construction decisions rather than just flexing spicy combos. Additionally, there is a wider slate of new shows teased for the winter season on Warhammer Plus, with a preview of what is arriving over the next four weeks.
Closing Thoughts – A Big Moment For Blacktalon Fans
The final three episodes of Blacktalon Season 2 feel like a proper event for Age of Sigmar storytelling. You have Neave dealing with betrayal, Shakana running a one way mission into Be lakor’s realm, and a reforged Rostus walking a darker path. Additionally, Eternus and Be lakor are still looming as major threats, so the stakes remain high right to the end.
The latest episode, along with a back catalogue of more than 500 shows and animations, is available right now on Warhammer TV if you have Warhammer Plus. By grabbing a yearly sub you also pick one of two diorama miniatures, unlock full army building access for the 40k and Age of Sigmar apps, and get into the Warhammer Vault. Overall, if you care about Stormcast stories or just want sharp, character driven animation in the Mortal Realms, this is absolutely the moment to jump in and see how Neave’s current saga ends.
