Space Marine 2 Reclamation Update – Boarding The Wrath Of Espandor

If you enjoy carving up xenos as an eight foot murder tank, this update is for you.

The Reclamation Update drops a fresh mission, new toys, and extra cosmetics into Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. You are cutting your way through Tyranids on Avarax, but the real problem now hangs in orbit. The mighty ship Wrath of Espandor has gone dark at the worst possible moment. Consequently, it falls to you and your battle brothers to board it and finish the job properly.

Boarding The Wrath Of Espandor

The Imperium is slowly forcing the Tyranids back from Avarax, but the war is not done. The Wrath of Espandor has fallen silent right when victory seems near. Inside, the Tyranids are still infesting every corridor and bulkhead. In the new Operations mission, you and your custom Space Marines push through the ship. Additionally, you will face two cunning Tyranid leader beasts while assessing whether the vessel can even be saved.

If the situation is beyond recovery, your duty becomes brutally simple. You cleanse the ship and every Tyranid aboard it, even if that means annihilating the Wrath itself. It feels very Space Marine to treat a battleship as disposable collateral. Additionally, the whole mission leans into that desperate boarding action fantasy fans love.

New Toys For Operations And Stratagems

Update 11.0 does not stop at a single mission. Operations mode gets the new Reclamation scenario as its headline feature. Stratagems mode also expands with fresh modifiers that twist your runs in mean but interesting ways. Additionally, six new Hero weapons arrive as juicy rewards.

You can now earn the Bolt Sniper Rifle for long ranged precision, plus the classic Heavy Bolter for raw suppression. The Instigator Bolt Carbine and Heavy Bolt Pistol bring more flexible firepower for different playstyles. Additionally, melee addicts get the Power Fist and the Thunder Hammer for maximum crunchy impact. Accolades from Stratagem missions can now be spent on eight new armour pieces, specifically four helmets and four pauldrons. Consequently, every successful run helps you look more like the unstoppable hero you pretend to be.

Chapter Flair For Angels And Salamanders

If you own Season Pass 2, you gain access to two new cosmetic packs. The Blood Angels Champion pack and the Salamanders Cosmetic Pack are also available separately if you prefer picking favourites. Additionally, both sets lean hard into their Chapter themes.

The Blood Angels set features a golden death mask of Sanguinius and armour inspired by Sanguinary Guard. You also get a unique jump pack for the Assault class and a Blood Angels chainsword. Consequently, your Angel can look like he just stepped out of a legendary mural.

The Salamanders pack adds two helmets and one backpack, matching the Salamanders Upgrades you might know from Warhammer 40,000. Additionally, it includes a pair of unique pauldrons and liveries for four successor Chapters. You can represent the Dark Krakens, Dragonspears, Covenant of Fire, or Black Vipers on the digital battlefield.

Chaos Customisation And Final Thoughts

Loyalists are not the only ones getting style options. All players can now mix and match Chaos Space Marine armour sets in PvP. The modular system works like it does for Operations mode, letting you build your own twisted champion. Additionally, this finally lets Chaos fans create that perfect heretic who looks exactly as cursed as they deserve.

Overall, the Reclamation Update feels like a proper content bump rather than a tiny patch. You get a cinematic boarding mission, more challenge modifiers, new Hero weapons, and extra armour pieces to chase. Additionally, Chapter themed cosmetics and Chaos customisation give plenty of reasons to jump back in. The update is live now on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, so it is a good time to grab your bolter, board the Wrath of Espandor, and start purging.
