The long awaited adversaries of the epic battles scale orcs are in the final stages of prerelease. Let’s take a look!
Wargames Atlantic’s 10mm Epic Battle Scale finally has another fantasy race to face off against the orcs. The Dwarves have a full sized set on the way, with loads of unit variety and options. The rumored second half of the starter set for WA’s fantasy game set at this scale, the Dwarves bring loads of classic fantasy feel to the tabletop.
The Dwarven Host box will come with three frames (shown above, front and back), and enough bases to build the following:
72 spear-dwarves (6 bases)
36 sword-dwarves (3 bases)
36 axe-dwarves (3 bases)
36 battleaxe-dwarves (3 bases)
36 crossbow-dwarves (3 bases)
12 ram riders (6 bases)
15 command and 3 casualties
That’s right, all the classic Dwarven loadouts are here, including the addition of ram riders to give the dwarves some much needed maneuverability. I was personally hoping for pony riders, but I’m happy there is a cavalry option and that it’s not bears. These guys look like they paint up real nice and could make for an excellent Battle of Five Armies or Warmaster proxy force.
