Organised Play Returns for Warhammer 40K with the 2025–26 Box

Chapter Approved 2025–26 brings new Warhammer 40K Organised Play kits with mats, tokens, art cards, and prizes for local events.

If you’ve been itching to sling dice in a structured Warhammer 40,000 environment without getting swallowed whole by the tournament shark tank, Organised Play is back — and this time it’s packing prizes, playmats, and shiny cards. With the release of Chapter Approved 2025–26: Mission Deck, Games Workshop is doubling down on creating spaces for players to gather, battle, and earn swag, all in a community-focused, casual-but-competitive setting.

What’s in the Box?

These new Organised Play kits are stacked. Each is designed to support a 32-player event, ideally for friendly local game store events or Warhammer Store meetups. Here’s what you get:

That’s right — no need to proxy objectives with coins, poker chips, or leftover pizza crusts. These are the real deal.

Combat Patrol Meets Community Vibes

While many players associate Matched Play with GT-level laser-focused competition, Organised Play puts a twist on the formula. It’s still a serious test of generalship, but the emphasis here is on local, approachable events that mix hobby celebration with actual gameplay challenges.

And since Combat Patrol is the default format — smaller boards, smaller armies, tighter games — it lowers the barrier to entry. You won’t need a 2,000-point fully painted army to take part, just a Patrol and a healthy love of bolter fire.

Where and How to Join

These kits are being sent out across North America, China, and Japan, with selected availability in Europe and Australia. If your local Warhammer store hasn’t already announced a date, it’s time to drop by and have a chat. Independent retailers can also request the kit, so your favorite FLGS might already be lining up their own dates.

Final Thoughts: Great Games, Great Gear

Whether you’re looking to sharpen your tactics or just score a really cool measuring stick, these Organised Play kits are a perfect excuse to bring your army out of hibernation. Plus, with the new Chapter Approved Mission Deck shaking up how objectives work, now’s the perfect time to brush up your skills.

We’ll be watching for those brass medallions — and the inevitable Instagram photos of folks wearing them to their next game night.
