Though the Scourge of Ghyran preview series has wrapped, it was merely the calm before the storm.
Now, the real war is ready to ignite, and all eyes turn to Neos the Ever-blooming — the lush heart of the Jade Realm and the crucible of the new General’s Handbook 2025–26 season.
Why should this matter to you, even if you’re lounging in your shimmering tower in Chamon or basking under Hysh’s radiant glow? Quite simply, Neos has become the battleground that will define Matched Play for the next season, and when you’ve got a couple of 2,000-point armies waiting to rumble, every inch of its fertile soil looks like a tactical challenge worth conquering.
The Jadewound — a pulsing font of life energy — has drawn the greedy attention of two particularly vicious factions: the seething hordes of the Skaven and the festering legions of Nurgle. Their corrupting touch threatens to drown Neos and its surrounding kingdoms in decay and ruin, making the island a natural hotspot for Matched Play battles. The new battlepack in the General’s Handbook brings these conflicts alive with vibrant new rules and seasonal flavor.
But that’s not all. Alongside the new General’s Handbook, every faction has received an expansive rules update, opening up fresh list-building opportunities and adding exclusive Scourge of Ghyran warscrolls. Over the last weeks, we’ve seen a cascade of new options: battle formations, spell and prayer lores, heroic and monstrous traits, beefed-up Kairic Acolytes, determined Fyreslayer Runesons with their fiery Magmadroths, hideous Brood Terrors lending literal hands, and major incarnations of legendary figures like Rotigus and Pontifex Zenestra.
If you’ve missed any part of the update wave, now’s your chance to catch up — every article is still available for review, giving you a faction-by-faction snapshot of what’s new for the 2025–26 season.
All these updates will be live on the Warhammer Age of Sigmar app starting 11th June, including the Pitched Battle profiles for every Scourge of Ghyran unit. That means you’ll be fully armed and ready to take on opponents across the twelve new battleplans introduced in the General’s Handbook. As an extra touch, the set also includes six beautifully designed objective markers that match the visual themes of the included missions.
Get ready, generals — Neos awaits, and the season’s most brutal stories are about to unfold on its blood-soaked, life-drenched soil.
