The necromantic tides surge once more as the Soulblight Gravelords receive fresh rules and dark gifts, just in time for the upcoming General’s Handbook 2025–2026.
Hierophant Alex of Nulahmia takes us through the key updates for the undead legions.
New Battle Formations
Two distinct formations mark this update. Skinshifters allows a Vampire to take on monstrous forms — bat, wolf, serpent — enabling them to pass freely over, under, and through terrain, transforming them into agile terrors. On the opposite end, Cryptmasters focus on reinforcing the Cursed Sepulchre with necromantic wards, turning it into a deathly bastion rather than a mobile force.
Heroic Traits
Three fresh heroic traits emerge for your vampire lords and necromantic champions. Immortal Ego grants your hero skills to match their boundless arrogance, amplifying their personal prowess. Frightening Vitality ensures they defy death, lingering on the battlefield far beyond mortal limits. Meanwhile, Wastrel and Vagabond doesn’t directly improve the hero but dangerously accelerates their minions, making your hordes faster and deadlier.
Updated Warscrolls
The Corpse Cart has been retooled: though its appearance remains shoddy, it now hits more reliably and supercharges nearby Deadwalker Zombies, making their death throes viciously effective. On the elite side, Sekhar, Fang of Nulahmia now projects hypnotic power across the battlefield, disrupting enemy commands, breaking wizards’ focus, and even turning enemy heroes against their own.

We’ve reached the end of the Scourge of Ghyran preview journey, and tomorrow brings the full wrap-up. Be ready — the General’s Handbook 2025–2026 goes up for pre-order on Saturday. Sharpen your fangs, polish your tomb relics, and prepare to take full advantage of these powerful new tools!
