May brings the latest Blood Bowl FAQ update, and rules writer Tom is here to walk us through the key clarifications and balance tweaks made this round.
While the game’s in a strong place overall, the design team has zeroed in on the most common community questions to keep things smooth on the pitch.
First, let’s talk Chaos Dwarfs. The new Iron Hard Skin skill has caused some confusion, so the FAQ clarifies that the skill remains active even if the player is Prone, Stunned, or has lost their Tackle Zone. Importantly, it also confirms that Foul Assists cannot modify the Armour roll when targeting a player with Iron Hard Skin.
Next, we’ve got the tricky subject of skill timing. Players have often asked when skills like Tentacles and Diving Tackle apply during the Dodge roll. This FAQ tightens up those interactions to eliminate ambiguity. There’s also a fresh round of clarification for Hit and Run, building on a previous update to make sure the sequence of events is crystal clear.
Another hot topic is the use of Special actions that replace a Block action. The update clarifies that yes, you can indeed perform these replacements during the Blitz kick-off event — a point that’s sparked a lot of discussion recently.
Beyond these highlights, the FAQ also touches on interactions between Trickster and Mercenary Giants, and how replacing actions works when paired with Bloodlust. These smaller clarifications aim to head off edge-case confusion before it trips up your next league night.
You can download the full May FAQ directly from the official site. The team encourages players to keep sending questions to bloodbowlfaq@gwplc.com so they can keep improving and refining the game. Tom promises they’ll be back with more updates soon — until then, may Nuffle’s dice favor your team!
