After the diseased corruption of Nurgle’s legions yesterday, today we step into the fresh, pulsing heart of Ghyran as the Sylvaneth rise from their deep-rooted slumber.
Adam, the arbiter of arboreal wisdom, is here to guide us through how the living spirits of the Realm of Life are preparing for the battles ahead.
New Battle Formations
The Sylvaneth’s magic lies in their ability to reshape the battlefield itself. The Wargrove of Burgeoning lives up to its name by letting your treefolk pop up all over the board and regrow just after they’ve been cut back — think of it as battlefield gardening with a vengeance. Meanwhile, the Wargrove of Everdusk offers a dream for sneaky players, allowing your Sylvaneth heroes to use Walk the Hidden Paths every single turn. That’s right: every hero, every turn, slipping through the forests like living shadows.
Artefacts of Power
Sylvaneth artefacts have blossomed into powerful new forms. The Glamourweave offers reliable resilience, letting your hero reroll one hit, wound, and save each phase — a tidy, all-purpose survival boost. Acorn of the Ages is a cheeky (and tactical) little item that plants a new Awakened Wyldwood right onto the battlefield mid-game, shifting the landscape to your advantage. And if you’re feeling vindictive, Ranu’s Lamentiri not only unbinds an enemy spell but reflects that magical energy right back at the caster. With a bit of luck, you could blast them off the table outright.
Updated Warscrolls
Two key Sylvaneth units have received exciting upgrades.
- Revenant Seekers now wield even deadlier sickles, dealing a solid 2 Damage per hit, while their lamentitri stores can be tapped to grant a Ward save to a nearby unit — both offensive and defensive boosts in one elegant package.
- Drycha Hamadreth, the fury of the forests, has doubled her slashing talon attacks, and they now ignore Ward saves outright. On top of that, if an enemy unit dares to charge her or a nearby ally, Drycha can either reduce their charge distance with a wave of squirmlings or dampen their attack accuracy. Her discordant spirit-song spell also empowers her allies, driving them into a frenzy of extra-violent strikes.
Both units are fully legal for Matched Play in battles using the General’s Handbook 2025–26 battlepack.
Looking Ahead
With the General’s Handbook 2025–2026 right around the corner, the Warhammer Community site will soon offer a Battle Profiles download packed with point updates, new regiment options, and the full slate of Scourge of Ghyran updates from recent weeks.
Tomorrow’s reveal promises to get the blood pumping — quite literally. Stay tuned, because things are about to get a whole lot bloodier.
