The Thousand Sons aren’t exactly known for their warmth or charisma
mostly because a good chunk of their warriors are basically walking urns full of psychic sand. Thanks for that, Ahriman. You might think they’d try to shake that reputation with something flashier, something a bit less arcane-and-dusty. But no—Magnus the Red heard the jokes, saw the memes, and said: “Fine. Let’s get real robots involved.”
Ancient Magic Meets Murderous Machinery
Enter the Sekhetar Robots. First conceptualized during the Great Crusade, these arcane automata were a product of the Thousand Sons’ obsession with blending sorcery and machinery. Inspired by Prosperine spirits and infused with hexagrammic rituals, the Sekhetar were designed to look like ornate statues—because what’s sneakier than a heavily armed sentry pretending to be fine art?
Thanks to elaborate magical wards, they remained hidden in plain sight across the galaxy, guarding sites of immense arcane importance. And when the time came? A quiet little incantation flipped the “on” switch, and the statues that were definitely not statues sprang into action, annihilating targets before anyone could utter, “Did that thing just move?”
Battlefield Role: Murder with Style
These machines aren’t just pretty faces. Armed with hellfyre missile racks for ranged armor-cracking and heavy warpflamers for short-range incineration, they bring pain at every distance. Optional pyreflux meltaguns and power claws turn them into even more terrifying frontline brawlers.
They’re fast, cunning, and durable too—Toughness 6, 4 Wounds, a 3+ Save, and a 5+ Invulnerable Save. Plus, Infiltrators and Stealth rules let them deploy aggressively and linger where it matters. Think of them as objective-sitting nightmares that also double as ambiance-enhancing terrain.
Pre-Orders Incoming
You’ll get your first crack at these psychic sculptures in the Warpflame Thrallband Battleforce, up for pre-order this Saturday. A standalone release is lurking just around the corner… or maybe they’re already in your display case, watching… waiting…
Note: While we know the name is tempting, do not lick the Sekhetar Robots. Many have been standing around since the Horus Heresy and are probably a bit musty.
