Hey everyone, Reecius here saying something I have not said in a looooooong time: I am going to play some 40k!
Yeah, you read that correctly. I, Reece, am actually going to be playing 40k, and in a tournament no less! The last time I actually played in an event was back in 8th ed!
Now, considering I have played all of 1 learning game of 10th ed, and my army is woefully out of date, I do not expect to do very well, but I am looking forward to rolling some dice and seeing friends at the tournament that in some ways started everything for me way back yonder.
For those that don’t know, Adepticon was a big part of what inspired me to get involved in organized Warhammer back in the old days. I went to one of the earlier Adepticons when it was known for its no-holds-barred Gladiator tournament. I was blown away to see an independently run event of that scale and went on to shortly thereafter organize the first Bay Area Open with some friends, leading to the formation of FLG and the rest as they say, is history. So, I am excited to kick of my return to form at the place that in part helped start this journey I am still on today.

I almost bailed on going, to be honest. I have been sick as a dog the past week, just getting over it now, and was unable to paint any of the new kits I got for my Eldar, sorry, Aeldari, or even assemble them. I was relegated to working with what I have on hand that was painted and that wasn’t too broken! My list is odd to say the least but then, lol, I don’t really know what is or is not a good list at this stage. This will be a very organic process.
I have enjoyed learning the game again, still a ways to go as so much has changed, but I think a lot of the streamlining and simplification of list building and such helps lower the barrier to entry this edition. I feel like some of the old school flavor I loved so much is lacking but overall the game seems to be in a good place from my limited perspective.
I will be reporting on the journey as I go from relative n00b back to–hopefully–tournament winning player! Or at least, winning record player? Haha, regardless it will be an enjoyable process and I hope you all can join me on the journey.

Proof of life, I am in fact still around!
The List!
Now, don’t be stealing my tech (tek? whatever the kids are saying these days) with my super amazing list! Haha, or, please don’t laugh too hard is more likely the scenario. I was limited by a severe lack of character and transport models that I had painted, so I just decided to lean into an MSU build and play to missions. I sadly don’t have a lot of what is hot right now so I am working with what I’ve got.

The plan is yeet Dragons at big stuff via my cool Seer Council abilities, use reserves and movement to try and hopefully win the objective game and rely on the large number of lances and small arms fire to keep things off of me. Will it work? No idea! But I will be posting updates as I go, rain or shine! The only thing I can say honestly is I have a LOT of units….which is good….I think?
If anyone has any insights, let me know, I am all ears. I am expecting to learn a lot, probably lose a lot but have a good time doing so. If you will be at Adepitcon, say hi!
Run the titan!
Hell yeah
