Few mortals survive an encounter with Khorne’s daemonic warriors, and even fewer view their carnage as anything but a waking nightmare.
But for an enlightened—and thoroughly blood-crazed—few, a Bloodletter’s brutal artistry is something to admire. These zealots, utterly obsessed with Khorne’s daemons, become Goremongers—elite warriors who reshape their bodies and minds in pursuit of daemonic perfection.
In Kill Team: Blood and Zeal, these frenzied killers go up against the Sanctifiers, a band of devout Imperials driven by their own brand of unwavering faith. Though both forces are devoted to their gods, the way they fight is wildly different. The Sanctifiers seek divine protection and healing, while the Goremongers embrace carnage, letting their fury shape every brutal strike.
Blood Herald and the Elite Goremongers
Leading this force is the Blood Herald, a warrior who has physically reshaped himself to mirror the daemons he worships. With a skull-faced helm, oversized blade, and custom-built mechanical legs, he charges into battle like the Bloodletters he so admires.
The rest of the team consists of seven other warriors, forming an eight-strong warband worthy of Khorne. Of these, up to five can be built as unique specialists, each with a distinct combat role. For those who prefer a more straightforward approach, they can also be built as Aspirants, equipped with long-handled chainglaives—weapons that strike with as much force as a Space Marine’s chainsword.
Not all of these warriors are reckless berserkers. Take the Impaler, for instance. This brutal operative doesn’t just drag enemies closer for the kill—they have the option to hold back from delivering the final blow. Why? Because leaving an enemy exposed in open ground lets another cultist charge in for the finishing move, ensuring their advance remains strategic and relentless.
The Power of Gore Tanks and Sanguavitae Abilities
A true servant of Khorne doesn’t just spill blood—they put it to use. Every Goremonger carries a Gore Tank, a reservoir that fills with the essence of those slain nearby. These tanks start half-full—a testament to their confidence in future slaughter—and once topped up, they unlock six unique Sanguavitae abilities. These range from rapid wound recovery to increased APL, ensuring these warriors can grab objectives even as they carve through enemies.
With an aggressive playstyle and abilities that reward relentless close combat, the Goremongers bring raw fury to Kill Team. Their bloodthirsty efficiency, combined with strategic mechanics like the Impaler’s Prey ability, makes them an exciting new force for players who want to dominate the battlefield with speed, brutality, and sheer devotion to Khorne.
