The Raven Guard’s Kaedes Nex is a name that sends a chill down the spine of many, not only because of his dark reputation, but also due to the brutal history surrounding him.
Once a notorious murderer and a pariah, Nex was left to die in a prison on Deliverance, only to be unexpectedly recruited by Corvus Corax, the Raven Guard Primarch, as part of a rebellion against cruel taskmasters. With a grim promise of redemption, Nex was given a chance to redeem himself by using his lethal skills in a cause deemed worthy by Corvus.
Despite his painful transformation into a Space Marine, Nex’s peers were never fully able to accept him. His obsession with the hunt and his singular focus on his mission earned him the title The Raven’s Huntsman, a title that underscored both his skill and his outsider status within his own Legion. Yet, despite his unsettling nature, Nex’s abilities in covert operations made him a valuable asset, particularly in the murky depths of war where shadows thrive.
Kaedes Nex was thought to have perished during the Drop Site Massacre, but as with many figures in the Heresy, his death was not to be. Instead, he reappeared over the years, leaving a trail of carnage and mystery in his wake. Clad in midnight black armor, the Moritat-Prime became a figure of legend, wielding two deadly Fulcrum hand cannons with unparalleled precision. His true motivations and loyalties remain clouded, but his unmatched combat prowess has made him a sought-after operative, lending his deadly services to various Loyalist factions without revealing his ultimate agenda.
The Blood Crow, as Nex is now known, will soon be available as a Forge World resin model. A solo operative at heart, he can also be fielded as part of Blackshields Detachments, where he adds a unique Raven Guard touch to the battlefield. Rules for using him can be found in Campaigns of The Age of Darkness: The Martian Civil War, where his legacy continues to unfold.
