Warhammer TV just wrapped up its first season with some exciting specials, and there’s plenty of content to sink your teeth into!
The three shows that are dropping this week include Black Library Book Club, Brainboyz, and a brand new show called Open Play. We caught up with presenter Josh to get the lowdown on what Open Play is all about.
Josh explained that while they’re not busy creating a ton of videos on gaming, painting, and lore, the Warhammer TV crew is also moonlighting as heroic defenders of the Imperium, taking on the Tyranid threat.
Open Play is all about stepping out of the studio and trying new Warhammer experiences. In the first episode, the team partners with Zero Latency for an epic VR adventure in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Defenders of Avarax. The team suited up with VR headsets and rifle peripherals, fully immersing themselves in the role of Ultramarines on the doomed planet of Avarax.
Josh and the team were blown away by the VR experience, describing it as if they’d stepped right into the Imperium itself. They battled through Tyranid hordes, using iconic weapons like bolt rifles and pyreblasters, all while working together as a combat squad.
The team had a blast, and if you want to see how they fared, you’ll have to check out the episode. But it’s not just about Open Play this week—Brainboyz will test your Warhammer knowledge with a quiz show full of tricky questions, while Black Library Book Club tackles the novel Krieg by Steve Lyons.
