The Emperor’s Children are known for their unparalleled depravity, and with the upcoming Codex: Emperor’s Children, they are bringing their decadent excesses to the battlefield in a new and exciting way.
The highlight? The Carnival of Excess Detachment, which allows you to field a mixed force of Heretic Astartes and daemons – yes, you can include Slaanesh’s empyrean cohorts alongside your Emperor’s Children!
This new detachment is a game-changer, as it allows you to fill half of your army with daemons, even though they usually have different Faction keywords. The Codex: Emperor’s Children also provides full datasheets for the daemons you’ll need – including Daemonettes, Fiends, Seekers, Keeper of Secrets, and even Shalaxi Helbane.
The crazy part? Mortals and immortals (the daemons) actually fight better together. The presence of these daemonic allies boosts the Emperor’s Children with Daemonic Empowerment, and the daemons themselves are empowered by their proximity to their mortal allies, creating a devastating synergy.
The Carnival of Excess Detachment takes things to a whole new level with unique Enhancements. The Possessed Blade Enhancement gives a champion warp-spawned power, but with the inevitable consequence of being consumed by it. If you want your Keeper of Secrets to make their own rules, the Warp Walker Enhancement allows them to slip out of the material world when things get too difficult.
Stratagems like Ecstatic Slaughter and Sustained by Agony also make this detachment exciting. These abilities play off the symbiotic relationship between Emperor’s Children and their daemonic allies, enabling mortal and daemon units to help each other in combat – from charging into battle to healing wounds after a kill.
For those who prefer to focus on just the daemons, you can still field them on their own with the Legion of Excess Detachment. The same goes for the other Chaos gods’ daemons, which can be used alongside their respective Chaos Space Marine codexes or through the Warhammer Community’s downloadable Grotmas Detachments.
If this all sounds tempting, don’t miss out on Codex: Emperor’s Children, which will be available for pre-order this Saturday as part of the Army Box. Prepare to indulge in all the excesses the Emperor’s Children have to offer!
