The Warhammer World anniversary weekend, set for March 1st and 2nd, promises to be an exciting celebration, with plenty of gaming events, painting challenges, and more.
This year’s anniversary coincides with the release of the High Elf Realms for Warhammer: The Old World, adding extra excitement to the weekend. The Warhammer Studio has put together three special scenarios for the event, and fans can download them to play at home or join in the fun at Warhammer World. These scenarios contribute to the ongoing narrative of the Old World, offering dynamic and engaging battles for all players.
Seize the Tower
The first scenario is designed for small armies of 500 points, making it perfect for quick and intense battles. Players will engage in a fight to control vital watchtowers on the shores of the Sea of Claws. Sea Lord Aislynn, the commander of Ulthuan’s navy, dispatches patrols to defend these strategic points against the marauding forces of Chaos. This scenario is ideal for those looking for a fast-paced game during the anniversary weekend.
Upon Shrouded Shores
The second scenario expands to a 2,000-point battle, the standard size for most Warhammer: The Old World games. Here, the followers of Frydaal the Chainmaker land on the misty Shrouded Isle, home to a powerful Elven garrison. The Elves must defend their mystical stronghold against the Chaos invaders, who aim to secure beachheads by controlling several objectives. As the game progresses, players earn Victory Points for each objective they control, adding layers of strategy to the battlefield. You can check out a sneak peek of this scenario on the Mini Wargaming YouTube channel.
The Toppling of the Waystones
The third scenario takes things to a grand scale, allowing teams of players to command their armies and participate in a massive battle. Chaos forces attempt to topple the Elven Waystones that protect the Shrouded Isle, while Sea Guard battalions try to prevent them. The battle is filled with confusion, as each player’s army faces breakpoint individually, requiring teamwork to succeed. Defending or toppling the mystical Waystones becomes crucial to the outcome, making this a thrilling and challenging scenario for any team.
Ticketed Event
Given the popularity of the Warhammer World anniversary weekend, the event will be ticketed. It promises a weekend full of great gaming, fantastic events, and memorable experiences. Whether you’re attending in person or playing these scenarios at home, the question remains: will Frydaal the Chainmaker conquer the Shrouded Isle, or will Sea Lord Aislynn’s regiments defend it from Chaos?
