This week’s Heresy Thursday brings exciting updates from the Forge World with two new plastic tanks and a heavy support box for the Mechanicum forces in Warhammer: The Horus Heresy.
These new additions will bolster your Mars-based armies with unique vehicles and formidable firepower.
Krios Battle Tank: This tank stands apart from the standard Imperium tanks, used only by the armies of Mars. The Krios is a more agile vehicle than its counterparts, like the Predator, thanks to its energy shield-based defense system rather than relying on heavy armor.
The Krios can be equipped with different weapons such as the Irradiation Blaster or the Pulsar-Fusil, turning it into the Krios Venator. All versions feature a command throne for the pilot, who uses the tank’s shielding to maintain safety while providing precise targeting assistance.
Karacnos Assault Tank: A variant of the Triarios Armoured Conveyor, the Karacnos replaces its transport bays with deadly twin mortar batteries filled with radiological warheads, designed to wipe out organic life in its path. It’s tough to crack, with a shock ram and sponson-mounted lightning locks making it formidable in close-range engagements. This tank is ideal for advancing against enemy lines, making it a heavy-hitter for any Mechanicum force.
These two tanks will be available as part of the Mechanicum Heavy Support Force box, which also includes the recently revealed Thanatar Calix Siege Automata. This box will be your first chance to grab all three miniatures before they are released individually later on.
With these new tanks, the Mechanicum forces continue their relentless march, packing destructive firepower and deadly speed. The Arcuitor Magisterium, as always, will approve of these models’ strict adherence to the ancient protocols of the Machine God.
