In this weekend’s Codex: Aeldari, not only are the Craftworld Aeldari and their elite Aspect Warriors getting new Detachments, but also Ynnead’s servants and Harlequins take center stage, bringing exciting new ways to play with diverse Aeldari factions.
The Devoted of Ynnead Detachment
The Ynnari are unique, as they welcome all Aeldari factions, including the Craftworld Aeldari, Drukhari, Corsairs, and even Harlequins. Now, Codex: Aeldari includes all the rules to field Drukhari units like Kabalites, Incubi, and Wyches in your Ynnari army without needing a separate Codex or Index. However, Ynnari cannot be used as a faction keyword anymore, so Devoted of Ynnead becomes the necessary Detachment.
The Strength from Death rule in this Detachment lets you use the deaths of your comrades to fuel your units’ strength, granting them more speed and even Fight First abilities when they take damage.
The Detachment supports Ynnari units by enhancing them with powerful Stratagems and Enhancements, helping create a dynamic, visually diverse army that brings together all Aeldari factions—Asuryani, Drukhari, Corsairs, and Harlequins—under one banner.
The Ghosts of the Webway Detachment
For Harlequins, Codex: Aeldari introduces the Disparate Paths rule, allowing you to bring Harlequins with their unique faction keyword, making them an official part of your army no matter the Detachment.
The Ghosts of the Webway Detachment adds more flexibility, letting you field up to three Harlequin leaders (usually limited to one in standard Aeldari armies) and granting Harlequin Troupes the BATTLELINE keyword, plus an extra point of OC to help with objective control.
In addition, Acrobatic Onslaught allows your Harlequins to move through enemy models when making Charge moves, enhancing their speed and tactically versatile playstyle.
Army Synergy
These Detachments do not limit your army’s access to other Aeldari units. You can still bolster your melee-focused Harlequins with long-range firepower from Falcons, Fire Prisms, or Night Spinners, or use Wraithguard and Wraithlords to absorb damage, giving you a balanced army that capitalizes on all the strengths of the Aeldari.
