Hi all,
After my recap last week, it’s time to dive into another set of predictions.
I will try and predict a variety of outcomes for AoS, 40k, 30K and the Old World. I am very excited this year, I have a gut feeling it will be a huge year for the fantasy games!
40K/30K Predictions:
- We know we are getting a few codexes this year after Knights, Eldar and Emperor’s Children also expect three more codexes which I expect to get released. These will be Thousand Sons, Grey Knights and Votann with a larger second wave.
- They will release another narrative supplement for the Nachamund Gauntlet campaigns.
- All in all, it will be a modest year for 40k and GW is focused elsewhere on specialist games, although there may be a blitz as we near the end of 10th edition.
- Both flavor of knights will get released but will not get much of a bump competitively.
- 30K gets a huge new edition as part of the release. It will involve a number of large changes which may divide the community. Admech or Dark Admech are one of the two release box armies.
- Necromunda will continue to trundle along in its quiet own way.
- Expect 4 or so Kill Team releases.
Fantasy Games:
- AoS will have 5-6 book releases: Soulblight Gravelords will be one and get a decent second wave with Black Knights and possibly Vargheists getting new models. By the end of the year all Soulblight units that can be used in the Old World will have been retired in AoS.
- Underworlds will also continue along with 3-4 new warbands but will continue to struggle.
- The biggest change to AoS will see the Chaos Dwarfs getting a special release and box set.
- Warcry will see a quiet year as GW tried to get more army releases going.
- For the Old World we will see the remaining three armies being released by the end of the year. We may also get a preview of a campaign book for the setting.
What do you think? Am I missing anything? What are you expecting out of GW this year?
