More Grand Battle Scale Teases from Wargames Atlantic

The hits don’t stop coming from Wargames Atlantic! Let’s check out what’s in the works for their Grand Battle Scale project.

Wargames Atlantic has released two sets of Feudal Japanese soldiers in their Grand Battle Scale (10mm) but they aren’t done yet! These boxes are made up of Ashigaru (non-warrior class warriors) and Samurai with loads of options, including command, but one of the main things that is still missing is higher command, i.e. Generals! WA has this in hand, thankfully, and have shown off renders if their upcoming command set.

But that’s not all, WA has also teased more of their fantasy offerings in the same scale. A while back we were told that their third range (Azincourt is the second range, after the Samurai) in the Grand Battles Scale would be released as a full game. We then were shown a range of Angus McBride-style orcs! Well, now we know who will be facing off against those orcs: Dwarfs!

Yes, one of the all time greatest matchups in fantasy lore is coming to 10mm plastic! Unfortunately we have not had much else to go on besides this one strip, but it’s a good start, and we can make some inferences. These Dwarfs have a very Nordic look to them, suggesting we may not see any gunpowder units, but rather bows or crossbows. The orcs have spears, halberds, swords and bows, as well has a mounted/fast attack option in wolfriders. It will be interesting to see if the Dwarfs get a mounted option of some kind or if they go the more traditional route of some kind of heavy infantry. My vote is for pony riders!

What do you think of these upcoming sets? Are you excited for a boxed game made up of these minis? Let us know in the comments!
