Being a general in the Galactic Empire is no easy task. It’s a position of immense pressure, with higher authorities constantly watching and critiquing every move.
General Veers, however, thrives under such scrutiny. Known for his tactical brilliance, Veers has led the Empire to numerous victories, none more famous than the assault on the rebel base on Hoth. Flanked by the chilling snowtroopers, trained and equipped for harsh, frozen environments, Veers has become an icon of exemplary leadership in the Imperial ranks.
Veers: The Unflinching Commander
General Veers embodies the disciplined, hierarchy-focused spirit of an Imperial officer. His unwavering commitment to the Empire’s cause has made him a formidable figure, even when dealing with fearsome individuals like Darth Vader. This confidence is a key factor in his success, most notably during the Hoth attack. He led a direct surface assault on the Rebel shield generators, orchestrating a victory that demonstrated his strategic prowess. And while rumors suggest he was taken out by a snowspeeder crash, whispers abound that the indomitable Veers survived to continue his Imperial duties.
You Have Your Orders: Veers’s Command Philosophy
The phrase “You Have Your Orders” perfectly captures Veers’s approach to leadership. He’s all about the mission and expects his subordinates to follow through without hesitation. His troops march on fearlessly, advancing on the enemy with precision and discipline. This leadership style is one of the reasons Veers’s forces, including his favored snowtroopers, have been so effective on the battlefield.
Enhancing Troops for Victory
Veers’s abilities make his stormtroopers not only more mobile but also more resilient. His active ability, I Will Have Results, grants stormtroopers a bonus Dash, allowing them to move faster and with purpose. But that’s not all — he can also remove a condition, provide a Hunker token, or give a bonus attack to a supporting character. Prepare For a Surface Attack is another powerful tool in Veers’s arsenal, enabling him to deploy troops in advanced positions while also improving their defense rolls as they ready themselves for the fight. Veers’s identity ability, We Are The Storm, unleashes devastating artillery bombardments, often disrupting enemy defenses and turning the tide of battle.
A Commander, Not a Brawler
While Veers may not be known for his hand-to-hand combat prowess, he’s no slouch when the fighting gets up close and personal. His experience as a veteran allows him to hold his own while guiding his troops on the battlefield. Veers has two effective combat stances: Lay Siege and Let the Rabble Come.
In Lay Siege, Veers adopts an aggressive posture, with enhanced ranged attack and defense stats, perfect for attacking objectives. His combat tree in this stance focuses on inflicting damage, while also providing the opportunity for heals, shoves, and even repositioning if necessary. On the flip side, Let the Rabble Come is more defensive, helping Veers endure close combat situations by focusing on survival and healing, while still maintaining a presence in the melee.
Snowtroopers: The Cold-Weather Warriors
Wherever General Veers goes, his loyal stormtroopers follow, and in icy terrains like Hoth, it’s his hand-picked snowtroopers that march alongside him. Blending into the arctic landscape, these soldiers are hard to spot until it’s too late for the enemy.
Lieutenants Lead the Charge
Snowtrooper squads are led by experienced lieutenants, trained to utilize terrain-appropriate gear and ensure their soldiers press forward under any conditions. Thanks to their Commanding Presence, these officers can push regular troopers to ignore enemy efforts to slow them down. Abilities like Dogged Assault let nearby stormtroopers take cover after attacking, while the lieutenant’s Sharpshooter [1] ensures that only Imperial stormtroopers shoot with such deadly precision.
In their Disciplined Assault stance, snowtrooper lieutenants balance damage with survivability. They can Expose or Shove foes, and their slightly enhanced combat stats allow them to effectively lead their squads into battle.
Snowtroopers: Resilient and Effective
Regular snowtroopers may not have the flash of specialist troops, but their resilience is undeniable. They can shrug off conditions that might impair their advance thanks to their Forced March ability, while Assault Tactics lets them focus on ranged attacks with impressive accuracy. Like their lieutenant counterparts, they benefit from the Sharpshooter trait — because, after all, “Only Imperial Stormtroopers Are So Precise.”
Snowtroopers’ Blizzard Tactics ensure that wherever they march, snowstorms seem to follow, burying their enemies beneath waves of icy determination. While their tactics mirror those of regular stormtroopers, subtle differences exist, such as their focus on dealing damage rather than pinning down enemies.
General Veers: More Than Just Hoth
Although General Veers and his snowtroopers are often associated with the icy battlefields of Hoth, their effectiveness extends far beyond frozen worlds. They are capable warriors in a variety of climates and deserve to stretch their legs (and maybe take a well-earned vacation) on some warmer planets once in a while!
Whether on ice or in the heat of battle, General Veers and his troops are always ready for their next mission — and you can count on them to deliver results.
