The social will take place 6PM-8:00PM in the front of the hall. There will be buttery popcorn courtesy of Monument Hobbies and the cash bar will be open. At this same time, there will also be the Players Choice Painting Contest. If you would like to participate, please have your team’s armies (all 8 of them) displayed together on one of the front tables. The contest will end by 7:30PM and the winning team will be announced on Sunday.
Food and Drink:
Breakfast:
Coffee and a breakfast sandwiches/burritos will be on hand for you to grab something before the first round each day. The Grab and Go Breakfast is located in the hall’s concession stand and will be open from 8AM-10:00AM on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday we will open up breakfast at 7:30am so that you can grab food before the round starts that day.
Lunch, Snacks and Bar:
The Lunch and snacks are located in the hall’s concessions starting at 11AM. The beloved Frontline Chicken Fingers will be served all day along with an assortment of other foods like sandwiches and chips. There are two player lounges which you and your team should take advantage of to eat lunch in and relax.
A bar is located in the hall as well and will be open starting at 11AM. Frontline Gaming Combat Juice will be on hand! For those of you unfamiliar with this beverage, Combat Juice is a special drink created at venues just for Frontline Gaming at a discounted price and features local ingredients/flavors. The Champions Cup Combat Juice is a Blueberry Margarita!!!
No Outside Food or Drink in the Hall
The Marriott and Watters Creek Convention Center has informed us that they will be monitoring this. Please respect their rules when in the hall. There will be plenty of options all day so you do not need to worry. The staff is far more relaxed in Allen TX, than at other venues like the LVO, so things like energy bars are fine, so you should not fret too much. Basically, don’t go to McDonalds and bring it in the hall and eat it there and don’t bring in an ice chest of drinks and expect us to let you get away with it.
Champions Cup Vendors:
In addition to the Frontline Gaming Second Hand Shop, there will be a few others booths. TX local, Rexers Lasers will be in attendance. Monument Hobbies will have a Model Repair Depot on-site as well.
Monument Hobbies Hobby Skills Awards
One of the reasons this Champions Cup has been made possible is because of the support of Monument Hobbies. Not only are they spearheading the best appearance judging at the event but they are also providing some epic prizes for EACH player on a team that wins! To see the rubric that the Monument Hobbies team will use to determine our winners, please visit the player packet.
Preorders:
If you have items that came with your ticket or were purchased individually, these items will need to be picked up at the front Registration Desk by 8AM on Sunday. Any items unclaimed by then will be forfeited without refund/replacement and may be sold to another person.
Event Swag:
We ask that team Captains get their entire team’s swag. Either on Thursday evening or Friday morning before 8:30AM.
FLG Challenge Coin Perk:
If you have Frontline Gaming Challenge Coins from previous Frontline Gaming events, please present them to the Registration Desk Friday between 10AM -6PM, Saturday between 8AM-10AM, or Sunday between 8AM-11AM. You will partake in the FLG Challenge Coin Perk for this event! Specifics about this event perk are shared on Friday.
Assistance during the event:
Anyone in a black FLG Staff or Champions Cup Tee, works directly for the event and can assist you. However for anything regarding the judging or format of the tournament or assistance with BCP, please go to one of the judges in the black and white striped jerseys.
When in doubt, please head to the front registration desk.
Marriott Hotel Allen TX and Regional Pro Tips:
Restaurants on-site: The Marriott has an onsite restaurant with a breakfast buffet if you prefer to not eat in the hall, but it is more expensive and may take longer than expected. It is highly recommended that you grab breakfast in the hall. The Canyon Bar in the hotel is very nice and is open for dinner if you want to stay in the building after you are done rolling dice for the day. For breakfast and lunch there will be plenty of food in our hall just for our Frontline Gaming Champions Cup Attendees, at very fair prices.
Restaurants off-site: in the surrounding area of Allen TX, there are multiple places to grab dinner, from fast food, to pubs, and local restaurants. The best option is to just walk directly across the street from the convention center along the cross walk to the Watters Creek Village where there are plenty of things to pick from and no car is necessary. Reservations are recommended as this is a popular part of town on the weekends.
Pro Tips: The hotel pool is open and has a really nice place to cool off after a day of gaming. The convention center is very large and has a concrete slab floor, so bring your most comfortable shoes that you own. Bring a bottle of water, this is TX and it can get hot.
If you have any questions, please post them on the Frontline Gaming Community Group on Facebook for the fastest response.
If you are already planning your next FLG event, be sure to consider the SoCal Open‘s 8 person steam event or the Las Vegas Open!
We can’t wait to see you all soon!
