Alright, fellow Warhammer 40K fanatics, let’s dive into the latest and greatest for our beloved Blood Angels. If you’re like me and have a soft spot for the Sons of Sanguinius, you’re in for a treat. The Blood Angels, known for their unique chapter cult, battle formations, and legendary heroes, are getting some serious love with a new Codex Supplement and an Army Set that’s packing more rage than ever.
First up, let’s talk about this Army Set. The Blood Angels have always been associated with their iconic red armor, but this set is taking things to a whole new level by focusing on the cursed Death Company. If you’re not familiar, the Death Company are those Blood Angels who’ve succumbed to the Black Rage, a curse that drives them into a berserk fury, reliving the death of their Primarch Sanguinius over and over. It’s brutal, but it makes them absolutely terrifying on the battlefield.
Leading the charge in this set is none other than Chaplain Lemartes. This guy is a legend – even though he’s gripped by the Black Rage, his sheer willpower lets him control it enough to lead his fallen brothers into battle. His new mini captures him in a feral pose atop a shattered stairway, and it’s epic.
But Lemartes isn’t the only big name in this set. Astorath, the High Chaplain of the Blood Angels, is back with a stunning new miniature. Known as the Redeemer of the Lost, Astorath’s grim duty is to grant the Emperor’s Peace to those who’ve fallen too far into madness. His new mini is a beautiful update, showcasing his classic leaping pose with a winged jump pack and the Executioner’s Axe.
Now, let’s talk troops. The set includes 20 Death Company Intercessors – 10 with jump packs for those high-flying assaults, and 10 without. These guys are highly customizable with new Blood Angels upgrades and transfers, featuring blood drop accessories, sculpted pauldrons, and all the wargear you’d expect for the savage Sons of Sanguinius, like inferno pistols and eviscerators.
Adding some serious firepower to the mix is the Brutalis Dreadnought. This beast is perfect for backing up your blood-crazed hellions, and it even comes with a Death Company badge in the upgrade sprues. Plus, the set includes the new Codex Supplement: Blood Angels with an exclusive cover and a set of datacards covering all 18 datasheets in the book.
This supplement not only includes rules for fielding Death Company Dreadnoughts but also introduces new and updated units and detachments, expanding on the options from the Codex: Space Marines. It’s everything you need to bring your Blood Angels army to life (or death, as it were) on the battlefield.
For those of you who prefer the more stable, non-maddened side of the Blood Angels, don’t worry. A regular Codex supplement is also on the way. But if you’re like me and can’t wait to unleash some bloodsoaked fury, this Army Set is where it’s at.
So, get ready to paint the battlefield red – and maybe a bit of gold – with the Blood Angels’ newest additions. Stay tuned for more details on the Codex, and be prepared to get your hands on this rage-fueled box. For Sanguinius and the Emperor!
