NEW FOR 2024:
40K TEAM EVENT: Due to unprecedented demand we moving from a singles competitive format to an 8 person team event that will be competitive focused but all are welcome to play. This 8 person team event will be a two day, 5 round event that will very closely follow the WTC / Champions Cup format.
40K NARRATIVE EVENT: In 2022 there was a sold out narrative event and we are bringing it back but making it 100 times cooler! This immersive 2-day narrative event is being championed by SoCal Local, Ben Nicholls who has been known to run some pretty epic narratives. It will be focusing on “modified matched play” format so that it appeals to both narrative and/or casual players as well as competitive focused individuals who do not want to play in the 8 person team event.
STAR WARS LEGION: Legion at SoCal in now an officially supported AMG Grand Tournament! This means awesome prizes and the full recognition from AMG.
STAR WARS SHATTERPOINT: Shatterpoint, the popular game system that sold out at LVO faster than other game system at LVO is coming to SoCal and will be an officially supported AMG Grand Tournament
NEW HALL: We are still in the fairgrounds but have been upgraded to an even larger hall, the O’Brien Hall that is nearby to our previous hall.
ACHIEVEMENT DICE: All game systems at the SoCal Open are certified Frontline Gaming Achievement Dice Events!

No Battletech, that sucks.
If you know of a TO to run it let us know, that is almost always the limiting factor followed by sapce.
There is Battletech! I’m running it.
We do have BT. Tickets have been there for a week or two
I agree
Is this a game only event? No workshops like at the LVO?
There will be vendors as well but it is largely for gaming, yes.
But no painting workshops?
Correct. No painting workshops
I’ve been wanting to buy a table from them for so long now. Will the FLG tables be available for sale at this event?
Yes. You can preorder them now. You need to preorder them.
I’d also love to know if there are any painting classes or a vendor area. I can’t dedicate that weekend to a tournament, but I’d still buy general admission tickets for classes and vendors.
No cost to enter the SoCal open. But it really is just a large tournament. Not a convention like LVO
So does that mean spectators are allowed to view the games?
The Atomic Mass games Grand tournament list has SCO listed as a X-wing Grand Tournament but I don’t see any ticket options, is that event still happening?
X-Wing is listed on the AMG Site for the SoCal Open but I can’t find it on your site.
Oversight by FLG or error by AMG?
Is there an Armada GT being held at this event? The AMG website indicated there was but I haven’t found it among the options to purchase. Did I miss something? I don’t want to purchase anything if the Armada event is not happening. Any help is appreciated.
